We stayed at Manglar Lodge in Nov. of '11 and loved our stay. We along with our two dogs moved from KC to Panama in March of '12. Our destination was Boquete and we needed a place to stay along the way that would allow our pets and none were to be found. I called Ivan and explained our predicament. With out hesitation he responded no problem...your dogs are welcome to stay at my house. You see, pets are not allowed at Manglar Lodge but Ivan went out of his way in offering his own home to our pets just to accommodate us. This is the service you can expect not only from the owner but the entire staff at Manglar Lodge. i can assure you that you will not be disappointed in the cleanliness of the rooms or in the quality of the food.

Thank you
George and Allison

Hello

It is always a pleasure to have you in our place and to help other dog owners I know how hard it is to travel around with dogs. If we build a new stage we will have some pet friendly room.

My daughter and I arrived in the relaxed atmosphere of San Carlos on the third day of our stay in Panama. What a relief after driving in Panama City!!! We stayed at the Manglar Lodge for two nights. It was a lovely place with clean rooms, great food and service. The setting in the lush trees that sit a few steps away from the black sand beaches is wonderful. There is an open-air dining patio where we enjoyed breakfast and dinner, chatting with the staff and owner, Ivan. The decor is cool and chic and the food is delicious. I recommend the fresh pineapple ice cream drink. Don't miss the cats lounging around the property.

We only stayed one night in the lodge to experience the Pacific after almost two weeks on the Caribbean side of Panama. Manglar Lodge is a stylish, indeed clean and well-kept Hotel. With only four rooms you get a personal touch with the staff. Enjoying the beaches of El Palmar is a bit difficult, due the large variations of the tide.

Room Tip: 3 of 4 rooms have a balcony.

We arrived in El Palmar on the fourth day of our one week trip to Panama, looking for a beach to surf and boogie board. We were lucky to find a room at Manglar Lodge for two of our four nights at El Palmar. Ivan, the owner was very helpful in helping us find the best place to rent boards and take lessons, he directed us to Coronado, a town about 10 minutes away, and even called us a cab to get there when we were looking for shopping, and sat down with us just to chat, many times during our stay at El Palmar. When my boyfriend got sick with the stomach flu one day, Ivan brought ant-acids and a new bottle of Pepto Bismol up to our room, even though he didn't sell it at his hotel, a gesture which was greatly appreciated. The hotel is extremely clean, and tastefully decorated. Overall, great service, hospitality, and a comfortable, clean affordable place to stay. Two thumbs up!

Airline lost our baggage when we arrived to Panama. Ivan (Owner) personally helped us to get those back and contacted a friend who works at the airport. We could not expect more.. Thanks Ivan and staff!!! Hotel is new, very clean and decorated with good taste. Service was excellent and staff was very helpful. El Palmar is a small place with quiet beaches. Most of the time, sandbar near by, were just ours.. El Valle is also close, so its easy to combine. We are very happy that we stayed here for 3 nights. Highly recommended!!

This small boutiqe hotel is true to the reviews on Trip Advisor. We are happy we stayed at this hotel for two nights . Our purpose in visiting Panama was to figure out reasons why retired people seeking warm weather would live in Panama vs. Mexico...Florida...Arizona ect. This little town is a great way to start a search for the perfect spot. Omarr...the acting manager went out of his way to help us..even secured a rental car to be brought to the hotel from Santa Clara Beach. This is an extreamly attractive property and is well managed. The beach in San Carlos is different...black sand...but has a gorgeous sparkle to it. A good place to stay.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice. We had a King bed...one we saw had two queen beds. All quiet and all are o...
