We spend 4 days at this amazing castle. We were upgraded into one of the older rooms. The room where Henry Ford is rumored to also have stayed when he visited Austria. The beautiful ambience was complemented with delicious local food in the castle.

Room Tip: Ask for Henry Ford.

Very happy with the overall setup and service. Hotel is beautifully restored. The half board is good value. The only downside for us was that you'll need a car to get around, as all other services are in the town within a 15 minutes hiking distance.

Staying at this castle was the highlight of my 3 week trip. We enjoyed every part of our stay. the atmosphere, the service, the food, everything about our stay was amazing. We did the castle/wine tour and enjoyed it very much. The views are amazing. We enjoyed our walk into the town of Mittersill. I would definitely stay here ago.

900 year old castle with GREAT hospitality. From the time we arrived till we departed the staff made you feel that they were gratefull to have you there. We stayed in room 308 and the views from our windows of the valley and the town of Mittersill were awesome. The restaurant had very good food and service was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

We recently spent 3 nights in Mittersill Castle on a hiking trip to Austria. We had a special package through an internet portal "Dein Deal" which gave us 3 nights with bed and breakfast and one half board 4 course menu. Normally half board is included in the room rate and certainly a wise choice as it is so nice to be able to just sit back and enjoy a glass of the splendid Austrian wines and not worry about driving. The castle is still undergoing renovation but we had a WONDERFUL room with a 5* bathroom. The internet was high speed with no annoying logging in every time we wanted to go online. Great makeup mirror in the bathroom, quality hairdryer( pet peeve as I hate the wall mounts that only whisper air instead of blow dry), fluffy robes and high quality shower and bath products. The room was furnished mainly with amazing antiques complimented by the freshly renovated surroundings. No money has been spared to make this castle again fit for kings! First class flooring, draperies, linens etc. A real treat even at their normal room rates. The half board meal was exceptionally well prepared. The a là carte servings are HUGE but again well prepared. We were also able to book the evening menu for a very reasonable price as the a là carte menu portions were just too much meat for our appetites. Service was extremely friendly but not intrusive. The Austrians are master hoteliers! Again, we certainly had a bargain as the renovations are still in progress but they didn't disturb us in the least so we can highly recommend this hotel to both couples, families and retirees like us that just like to get away for a couple of days and enjoy life. There is no spa, pool or fitness room but with the hiking and skiing opportunities in the area we didn't really miss them.

Historical hotel with a very personal touch from the moment you enter the temporary reception and receive a glass of wine on the terrace while checking in until you arrive at home and receive a personal note from the director Stephanie Busch von Holtum. Initially we booked 4 days, but after 2 days in this haven, we decided to stay a week.

We stayed in the comfortable modern room 111 with beautiful mountain views. Breakfast is outstanding with homemade delicatessens and a new special each morning (buttermilk with berries, pancakes, sausages, etc.). We ususally don't choose half-board, but we did here at an extra 10 euro cost per person. A 4-course dinner was served indoors and outdoors, and was good value. Wines are a bit costly compared to equivalent restaurants.

The neighborhood is great for all kinds of hiking - and Innsbruck is approx. 1 hr and 45 min away.

Only downside, which is why the rating isn't 'excellent', is that we should have been warned that there is Construction Work going on at the moment (building of new spa area and renovations of rooms), which meant that workers started at 7am and continued until 5 pm.
Otherwise the place is a haven for exploring the Mountains, sitting in the charming garden with a book or drinking a glass of wine in the courtyard. The Castle team are extremely accomodating and dedicated.

we had the most wonderful lunch here. We had planned to go to another restaurant near by but it was closed, so thought we would try the Schloss. This will now be our restaurant of choice.

Although it was very quiet the atmosphere was good, it was a cool day so we ate inside, next time we hope to sit outside and enjoy the wonderfull views.

Service and food were wonderfull.
