Ideal summer and/or winter location, the former for walkers; the latter for skiers. The Braurup is friendly, warm and comfortable with staff ever eager to please. The brewery on the premises is an added bonus.

This year we decided to take our Christmas on a coach holiday, and being in Austria late in August, decided to return to another location again in Austria. We travelled from the south coast of the UK by coach and arrived at this hotel late in the afternoon after a one night's stop in France. The hotel were waiting for us on Sunday Dec, 22nd, 2013 and we were all soon in our rooms. We were welcomed by the warmth of not only the hotel itself but by the staff also. All our cases were delivered to our rooms by the staff and we soon had our keys for the rooms. We were in Room 203. It was warm, all radiators with thermostatic valves, and huge. The usual Austrian twin beds in a large bed frame, each with its own duvet. The room also contained a settee, cushions, chairs and as much space and cupboard and wardrobes one could ever want for. A large safe for free use and a small refrigerator. Large bathroom with a large basin unit, bath with shower. Seperate WC across a quite roomy entrance hallway. Two double-glazed windows overlooking the street at the side of the hotel.
Each day we had a large self service breakfast, pots of tea and coffee, and an evening dinner with a choice of menu, which we selected from at breakfast. Christmas day we also had a roast turkey lunch with wine and Christmas day evening we had yet another cooked meal. All evening meals consisted of a self service mixed salad starter and also soup if required. the main course a choice of two and sweets another choice were served at the tables.. Extra offers were made for vegetarians. Dinner was followed with coffee or tea included.
A lift serviced all three floors and there was a good sized bar area and a confortable lounge.
All the staff were very helpful and friendly.
We could not fault the hotel. One night I did not want the main course, Duck, and was given a further option which I did not expect, but enjoyed. Hotel carpeted throughout and not a sound could be heard in the bedrooms.
Although there was snow about, we did not have any fall whilst we were there, but that was nobofys fauld. All in all, an excellent location and a top class hotel. Would love to go again.

Excellent attention, place, food, and fishing. The hotel is owner of a huge fishing grounds, with more than 130 km of fantastic rivers and lakes. The Krimmler Ache valley is... the heaven!!! I've been for three times at this hotel, but for sure don`t will be the last. Incredible surroundings at Hohe Tauern National Park.

We were pleased beyond all expectations!! The hotel blends a unique mixture of antique and modern decor - the rooms are clean, comfortable, and the view of the surrounding mountains are out of this world. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Reception was well organized and efficient. The fly fishing store, attached to the hotel, was well equipped and convenient. We hired a fishing guide and had a great day on the water. The morning buffet offered a wide variety of meats, cheeses, fruit, and danishes. The endless pots of coffee were superb. Dinner in the lounge was cozy, comfortable, and reasonably priced. Compliments to the Chef...the food was delicious.

Room Tip: Ask for an inside room away from the roads. Windows remain open at night, so passing cars and trucks...

We had a recently renovated, beautiful room, with a mountain view. Staff was helpful and cordial. Buffet breakfast was OK but not great. Wi-fi OK. In summer there are many hiking options nearby, including gondolas allowing you to start at the top with views of the Grossglockner. Krimml Falls about 25 kilometers away is the highest in Europe (around 1,250 feet), and you can hike to it. The Hotel owns fly-fishing rights to over 100 kilometers of numerous rivers within about 30 kilometers of Mittersill. Much of this was unfishable because of glacial silt and recent rains, but I had two days of pleasant fishing for 34 Euros per day (that's cheap in Austria) on the Krimml (a gorgeous river and valley above the Falls), and 2 smaller streams. Brauerup brews its own beers and they are excellent, particularly the dark beer which is unusual in Austria. We ate in the fine & lively outdoor restaurant all 3 nights, particularly enjoying the tomatoes and (wonderful) muzzarella, soups, fish, schnitzels and good selection of excellent Austrian wines.

What a great and friendly place for a holiday with friendly service, good food, unbelievable scenery and large well appointed rooms. Family run hotel in an awesome valley catering to families, walkers, fishermen, hunters, lovers and even businessmen. As a fisherman I had access to 150 kms of the best waters in Austria at one inexpensive swoop including lakes, rivers, streams all within a reasonable distance and some of the best water I have seen in my life.

Room Tip: Try the beers. Mateus, the owner makes his own beers both regular and weissbier (wheat beer)
