“Pure disgrace”

Watch out people it's a rip off, we stayed in the Belmont and the service was just so so disappointing and when we asked for the towels to be change they said 10 euro per person and when we checked out after 10 o'clock they charged us 30 euro for no reason, then when I checked my credit card the put 72 euro on it and I have no idea why. Top flight have alot to answer to for setting us up with this place . Would never ever be back again. The staff are so rude

Just returned from new year in les arcs. Agree with jmrlondon that you've got to be an intermediate skier to ski in. The track is <2m wide, twisty , steep and through trees. Having said that it is only about 30m from the piste so just take off your skis and walk down. The ski out is fine and getting to the Transarc is a matter of a minute or so. We stayed on the top floor at the very end of the building (830) in an apt for 4. The sofa bed was soft but otherwise the apt did what it said on the tin and you're there to ski not watch TV. If that's what you want, bring a DVD player and cable ... The place was clean and quiet - even on NYeve, but You might want earplugs as any noise from the corridor will reach to the bunk beds. There is a little local supermarket 100m from the front door and the free Navette shuttle bus stop is only a little beyond that. We didn't use Skiset as Ski Republic was much cheaper but you have to lug skis etc from Villards which is a bit of a pain. We took the Eurostar to Paris then an overnight Couchette from Gare d'Austerlitz which takes you to Bourg station. The funicular is at the end of the platform, followed by a free Navette ride to Charmetogger which was pretty stress free. The only problem is the scrum that is the French idea of a queue to get on the bus - be prepared to stand your ground at 7.30am if you don't want to be shoved off to the side!

Room Tip: 8th floor is near top of trees and has more light and probably quieter.

We stayed in Le Belmont for a wonderful sunny week of skiing in March 2012. Les Arcs 1800 is a great location with super access to the pistes. Le Belmont claims to be ski in ski out but unless you are a very advanced skier it really isn't. Best way to ski back in is to duck under the net and go through the ski school.

We booked a studio for 4 people that really wasn't big enough for 4. The bunk beds are in the corridor by the front door and are very uncomfortable, the sofa bed in the lounge is pretty cosy and also uncomfortable. With all our ski stuff there wasn't enough room to swing a ski pole. The balcony was nice and had a cracking view but the room stunk of smoke. The kitchen is basic but we knocked up some great grub despite not having an oven or grill.

The other downside here is there's very little sound proofing so you can hear doors banging and people shouting most of the night. I guess the cheap value attracts people on boozy ski holidays and arc 1800 does have a lively nightlife.

Overall we had a great holiday but we're shattered as we hardly slept all week in the uncomfortable beds and all the noise from other guests.

We've just come back from a week in Les Arcs having stayed in the Belmont apartments. They have been nicely redecorated and our apartment was reasonable for 2 people. Sadly it is meant for 4, which would have been horrendously cramped. The usual standard of kitchenette applies - non-usable mini oven/grill/microwave and a decent hob, dishwasher and fridge. Everything was in good condition and well maintained. HOwever, it seems that every single door, cupboard, item of furniture in the place was designed to make as much noise as possible. Thankfully we were on the 8th (top) floor and even then the noise from the adjoining apartments was incredible. Ear plugs are a must here or you will find yourself skiing/boarding on 3-4 hours sleep maximum.

Good service for bread etc. to be ordered from reception (saving the long walk to the nearest boulangerie on metal stairs) and the ski room has heated boot racks and easy access. Cleaning kit was provided as were towels and sheets etc. Decent tv and also access to broadband (at extra cost) if you need it. SkiSet hire shop on the premises makes it very easy to get your kit and the manager is a really helpful guy who is keen to make sure you get the best from the equipment.

The down side to this place was the lack of information given at check in (e.g. there is a pool table and table tennis table, which we only discovered at the end of the week) and the general indifference of the check in staff. Disappointing considering this place is not low end. The beds are also very low quality (foam mattresses) that are not comfortable. Ditto the pillows (seemingly full of lumps of foam) so if you want a good night's sleep after a tough day on the slopes, this is probably not the best place to get it. Overall it was ok, but these apartments are dressed up to look high end, but it's all surface shine and no substance.

Room Tip: Go for the top (8th) floor to avoid noise from above and if you can get a 4 person apartment for 2 p...

Paid 1460euros for a family (4/5) appartment for a half term ski holiday and was really pleased. Booking and dealing with the people was really straightforward. Quality and cleanliness worked for us. Was genuinely ski in and out albeit a touch tricky. Ski-set eqpt shop in the buidling works really well. Easy sort walk (2 mins) to a great bakery for the mornings and 4-5mins the other way to shops and supermarket (Sherpa) and pass office. Very easy. Access to/from resort v easy. Did not need chains. If you are booking the underground parking, insist on paying in advance (about E65). No UK TV. Very quiet location so no nite time nonsense which was great. Coin operated laundary works well. TomTom took us a bit of a strange route so make sure to stay on main roads. We thought Les Arcs was a great resort but 1950 looked even swankier abeit probably more nite-life/noise. Paid 20E for a week's euro, which was fine but not hugely capable/reliable. Staff genuinely keen to help. Good strong beds. Enough for 5.

Room Tip: We went high (5th floor - appt 500) and that worked well.

Spent a long week end in Le Belmont at the end of January 2011 mainly for skiing and was nt disappointed. We were a couple staying in a one bedroom appartment which was more than enough - we have 2 children under 10 and thought it would have been OK with them too but!
very confortable appartment with nice view over the trees (we were on the 7th floor!). Ski in and out through the back door off the ski lockers down through the trees to the Transarc - return can be a bit tricky though again through the trees so take it easy.
There is a boulangerie service at reception but we choose the local one just 2 minutes walk.
There is a car park just under the building but apparently you need to bok in advance so we chose the indoor one just 2 minutes away (40 euros for 4 days).
Into the center of Les Arcs is about 5 or 10 minutes walk depending on where you go and there is a larhe variety of bars and restaurants ranging from student like hangouts to more cosy style.
Oh yes, skiset has a shop just outside the main entrance and they are very friendly - I always advise to book online to get the best rates.
I would definitely go back as overall Iam very happy with the residence.
Les Arcs is also a great resort by the way!ain to down through the trees...

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floors for the light and the view!

This Christmas was the 4th time we have stayed at Belmont Apartments. We keep coming back because they are always clean, very spacious and really well equiped, The boot room leads straight on to the slopes and this year we had only a 5 metre walk from our locker to the snow!
When we rent skis we always go with Ski set and they have a rental shop right ouside the front door of the hotel.
