“Not really ski-in / ski-out”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2012

Been there for a short ski and we looked for a hotel on the piste. That is not the case with Arcadien Hotel. You have to walk about 300 meter, upstairs and up to a talus. We were 4 adults and got a duplex room for 4 persons. That would be a good solution for 2 adults with 2 children (however, for little children, the stairs in the room can be very dangerous), but much to little for 4 adults with luggage. Also the ski-lockers were to little for 4 pair of skis. For snowboards it would be even worse. No possibility for drying your ski-boots during the night. No elevator in the hotel.
The rooms for 2 persons were OK.
Breakfast and food was OK, not more than that. Wifi available in the entire hotel. Friendly and attentive staff. We arived in the late evening and got a mixed salad. Take care: price of 20 Eur was charged on our account, much to expensive for what we got.
Arc 1950 and Arc 2000 is much more attractive than Arc 1600.

Located at the far end of Arcs 1600 village behind the ski school, a 10 minute walk from the funicular station. Almost ski-in/out but for a 50m walk. Rooms are furnished to look and feel like a traditional mountain chalet, has a built in workstation with free WiFi and a small wall mounted flat screen TV - channels are all french. Dinner is regional style with the rice or pasta curiously served in jam jars.

Room Tip: Ask for the south facing rooms, they a nice view of the forest. If you have heavy luggage ask for t...

Breakfast was a better-than-average French buffet. Dinner was simply great - two options for each of the three courses, and cooked and presented with care. My 15 year old son was constantly praising the food. Room was warm and tastefully decorated - regulated ventilation possible at night using the large sliding windows. The staff were there when you needed them - restaurant team particularly good. Reception sometimes unmanned but could be summoned. If you have a car, you have to drop your bags off in the small car park and then return your car to the main resort car park - not a brilliant arrangement but workable. And we had snow!

Room Tip: Make sure you specify your room requirements carefully on the web booking form (view, no view; smoki...

Short ski trip

A sweet little hotel that gives you the small place, personal service feel in what is otherwise a big and modernist but fun resort. The restaurant was great for both breakfast and the dinner. We did not get to use the spa. Travelled with wife and 11 month baby with a place in the baby-creche in the nearby La Cachette hotel.

We arrived late, and asked for some food and within a few minutes enormous delicious salads and deserts were rushed up to our room. The room itself was tiny but recently refurbished with a pretty view. My wife went for it on the slopes and broke her rib on the first day!!! The staff could not have been more helpful in helping us sort everything out and sadly return early.

The medical centre, ski-rescue ambulance team and local hospital were first rate.

Only minus about the hotel is its position which means its not ski in-out but it is within a few minutes of the slopes.

Would definitely come back.

Stayed here for 4 nights when skiing in les arcs. Hotel was clean, comfortable and has been nicely refurbished since our last visit a few years ago. Spa was great after a long day on the slopes!! We had half board and food was generally good and they tried hard to cater for vegetarian needs. The staff were all very friendly and even though they spoke little english they tried very hard and even learnt the evenings menu in English for us which was very kind. Great location for slopes too!

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst walking in the mountains. I really couldnt falter the hotel, and considering that we used the neighbouring hotel's pool and the hotels spa at no additional cost, I could really argue with the price! Breakfast too was vey good, although the restaurant is closed in the summer so I can't comment on the restaurant. Would stay here again.
