Our stay was great in most ways. The staff in the hotel was extremely friendly and qualified. They helped us out with every need from skipasses to ski materials to restauarnt bookings. Great great great !! However the restaurant needs more attention. The quality of the food is simply not good enough for a 5 * hotel. Also staff is not experienced and qualified. The young sommelier was the only person passionate about his job. We appreciated him very much. And the last thing I would like to mention was our room 115. It had allmost no view on the mountain and was very loud and noisy. The lift and people walking by could always be heard inside the room with all windows closed so we did not get good nights of sleep. That was very unfortunate..;

Let me begin with the SkiShop staff. They were absolutely great. Everyting was just perfect. After a day they knew your roomnumber etc.

The staff in the rest of the hotel however was not very good. The service was different every day and sometimes staff was just unrespectful and not very flexibel.

Also, we think it is rediculous to pay for tap water in the restaurant. Sometimes we drunk not even a glass per person and still we paid 5 euro each (so 10 a day). A waterservice at a tabel works when you are sitting for hours in a restaurant but our meals passed within the hour.

The location and skishop made that the overallrating is still good.

Third time to Les Arcs 2000 but first time to Taj I Mah. Superb stay and service. Nothing is to much trouble for the staff. Service is excellent. The little touches are so noticeable. The bistro manager Johnathan was superb and looked after my family so well. We have two young ones 3 and 9 and they were welcomed without haste. The ski shop staff are excellent especially manager and owner Tilly. Impressed by the fact the general manager thought to find us each night and check how we were. The staff made my birthday as special as they did my family. The hotel is top quality and the views amazing. It is expensive but it warrants it. This hotel really in a strange way out of place as the rest of Arc 2000 just pales in comparison and many of the business and locals are not friendly or welcoming and pretend they don’t speak English and ignore your attempts at French. So thank you Taj I Mah for delivering excellence and and making 8 days fantastic and showing the locals what the highest standard looms like

We've just returned from a week skiing and stayed in The Taj-I Mah. We can't fault it. The rooms were immaculate and well serviced, and facilities excellent. The spa was a welcome treat at the end of the day.

We stored our skis in the on site ski shop where they were got out and put away by a group of incredibly friendly and helpful staff each day. Indeed the staff throughout the hotel we're consistently helpful.

The location is fabulous, with ski in ski out access and easy access to Arc 1950, as well as 2000. It was our first time in Les Arcs and the skiing is great. We stayed half board and found the nightly 4 course meal to be excellent. There's a great bar, overlooking the slopes, with a real fire and some fantastic and appropriate (background) entertainment - a guy called Tanguy Delan did a guitar and singing set for 3 nights and was excellent.

The only drawback for us was we'd booked our holiday through Crystal ski (but will never do so again!). They mucked up our (and many other people's) transfer meaning we arrived in the middle of the night. We'd not eaten and were exhausted. The hotel staff on reception stepped in to the rescue. They welcomed us, helped us with our bags, and even rustled us up some food at 2.30 in the morning (they'd been expecting at 7.30pm the previous day). They were fantastic.

Altogether a great week. We'd go to Les Arcs again, we'd certainly choose this hotel again, we'd love to see the helpful staff again, and we'd hope to see Tanguy performing there again. We'll definitely be back. BUT WE WOULD NEVER BOOK THROUGH CRYSTAL SKI AGAIN. Next time we'll travel under our own steam or through a different organisation - one that understands the meaning of customer service.

Great location for ski in and out. Rooms very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Staff all very friendly and service was good. We had half board option and the 4 course dinner in main restaurant was always very good. We ate in the Bistro on a couple of nights and it was good too although the half board allowance didn’t cover the cost of our meal in full there - understandably so as there were nice steaks, burgers and duck that you would would expect to pay a bit more for.

Les Arcs/la Plagne perhaps don’t have the reputation of the 3 valley villages or Val D’isere but we thought the skiing was excellent and this hotel is a great place to stay.
