“A slice of heaven”

Just home from an idyllic two night stay at the studio. The owners were delightful, they couldn't have been more welcoming and full of local knowledge. The studio feels private and has been decorated with a touch of class, style and ingenuity. Breakfast in the owners 14th century thatched home was a delicious. The eggs came from their gorgeous free range chickens that are wandering in their gardens. Well located for many local places to visit. We saw Sissinghurst, Bodium Castle, Great Dixter and Chartwell House all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. Still lots more to see and do. We will definitely return!

We were looking for somewhere to get away for a few days and have a mini break and couldn't believe our luck in finding this place. We arrived as the sun had set so didn't get a chance to appreciate the amazing views until the morning. After a five star breakfast we found it hard to leave the studio and go and head down to Camber Sands. The problem with the place is that the setting is so beautiful and the studio so comfortable you don't want to leave.

We just returned from our second visit to the Studio and this time we were lucky to have the first real spring sunshine of the year. This allowed us to have drinks on the studio's private decking soaking up the stunning views. Just perfect !
We are getting hooked on this place.

March 2013

A quite lovely hideaway Knelle Dower Studio/Barn B&B is detached from the owners house offering luxury blissful isolation with the fine attention to detail expected from a five star accreditation.

The recently renovated studio/barn offers open plan contemporary style accommodation, superbly designed with quality furnishings including an Oh so comfortable Super King bed, Wi-Fi, LCD TV, Freesat, DVD, I-pod dock. Everything was spotlessly clean & maintained to a high level. In addition you have a compact kitchen area with all the essentials; a well designed & equiped modern shower room completes the ensemble.

Our stay was a special celebration & as such Knell Dower provided everything required for a truly memorable stay, the unexpected additional touches & fine attention to detail were really appreciated. If your arriving late or not the delicious Deli Boards offered on the first nights stay enable you to familiarise yourself with your accomodation & it's surroundings & are well worth forking out for.

Breakfast is taken in the owners own accommodation a short stroll from the studio, Bettina, freshly prepared this to order every morning it was varied & quite delicious. Summer stays weather permitting allows the taking of continental breakfast on the studios decking area, a feature we intend to experience at a later date.

During our stay we experienced some of the coldest March weather for many a year; it was so nice returning after a day out walking or dinner in a local restaurant or pub to such warm comfortable accommodation.

Quite how Knelle Dower can improve on this quite delightful luxury B&B experience eludes us…….

I booked to stay a night at knelle dower for me and mt partner as a little get away, I can honestly say this is one of the nicest bed and breakfasts we have ever stayed at, We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived, Bettina the owner had clearly gone out of her way to ensure our stay was nothing but perfect - The room was immaculatly presented with treats for us on the coffee table and in the kicthen she had provided us with a continental style breakfast for the mormning ( i had told her i like pastries so she had gone out of her way to get 4 delicious waitrose pastries boxed up beautifully waiting for me !) Breakfast included breads, Cereals, Orange and apple juices , Selections of fresh jams, It was lovely. On arrival bettina was happy to show us around the outside of her own home - The one shown in the picture which was very well maintained with established gardens. The views from the studio are lovely and its very peaceful i imagine in the summer this would be even nicer as you could have breakfast out on the decking in the sunshine. We went to dinner in rye which took around 15 minutes to get there and park. We really enjoyed our stay and would encourage anyone to go there weather it be a night away or a small break. Deffinatly one of britains finest finds !

Taking a ‘New Year’ alternative road trip around the South of England in December / January was no small undertaking when you have to cope with getting past the never ending London suburbs on a Friday afternoon. Still, we doggedly made our final stage of our drive down from our home ‘up North’ on a cold, wet day between Christmas and the New Year. We had booked a B&B in the village of Northiam in the East Sussex countryside, so that we could take a couple of days to explore a region that we have never hitherto had the time to discover. We arrived in the dark with feelings of trepidation as we drove down a long and narrow country lane that opens out to a country gate with a large parking area beyond. An ancient thatched cottage could barely be seen in the gloom; just the front porch lighted the entrance. We were immediately greeted by the owner who directed us away from the house to a small barn that was positioned on a small ridge standing away from the main house.
Having come in from the cold and after several hours of driving behind us, we were blissfully wrapped in warmth and stylish luxury. We totally relaxed and too tired to venture out to eat, we helped ourselves to drinks and treats left for us in the small kitchen and curled up for a very cosy evening in front of the wide screen television and caught up with our emails as there was free wi-fi access as well, which I am always grateful for.
With big soft pillows, crisp white sheets and beautiful silence, we settled in for a wonderful night’s sleep. The next morning we ventured out onto the ‘sun-deck’ and found that our little barn was nestled in the middle of nowhere with just us and the beautiful 15th century thatched house surrounded by the morning mists. Being situated in the middle of a fairy tale setting comes to mind.
We feasted on a superb breakfast served by the owners within the dining room of the astounding house, which has been preserved and maintained to perfection. Fresh juice, coffee and a full English breakfast was so good it was of restaurant standard. It set us up for a day of exploring the beautiful countryside. This B&B is worth every penny, the attention to detail is faultless, the quality of service, discreet, helpful and yet friendly and welcoming. Not only do we highly recommend Knelle Dower, we intend to return for a week’s holiday this summer!
