We visited Kanha Jungle Lodge for 2 days just before Christmas 2013 and had a super time. It is such a lovely place, fits well into the countryside and has a staff dedicated to conservation. The waiting staff were fantastic as was the food, they were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. the safaris were well run with lots of information about all the animals and birds and the sighting of the tiger was the highlight as we spent about 10 minutes following it. The weather was cold in the mornings at about 5 degs so you need to take some warm clothing but blankets and a hot water bottle are provided for the morning game drives which certainly helps. Our only criticism was that the rooms had no heating available so were quite cold in the evenings and when you showered (we had a bit of a hiccup with the hot water in the shower but it was quickly resolved) so for that time of year some evening heating for the rooms would be welcome.
The flying squirrel was amazing.
We have been to India many times and visited Rathambore previously but if we were to return to any of the tiger sanctuaries then we would certainly choose the Jungle Lodge at Kanha
