“Perfect Family Getaway”
Reviewed July 20, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

This house was absolutely ideal for us as a large family -almost too big! It has everything you need and more. Plenty of different spaces for everyone to find a quiet spot when needed but lots to do at the same time. Tonnes of games for rainy days or evenings as well as a massive TV. The beds are so comfy and all have lovely linen. The kids loved the garden -both the grassed area for playing rugby and the wild flower area for hide and seek. Less then a 5 minute drive into Lyme Regis where we spent almost every day swimming in the sea, kayaking and playing on the beach -all idyllic but nice to then retreat to the total peace and quiet of Uplyme village. The fabulous hamper of welcome goodies on arrival was an amazing start too. Didn't want to leave and would love to go back!

“Lovely house”

We enjoyed a lovely family holiday in this beautiful and well equipped house. The children (and adults) loved the gardens.
Some excellent walks from the house and the walk down to the beach was an easy 30 minute stroll through meadows and woods.
Hope to visit again.

“The best location for a celebration”
Reviewed May 23, 2017 for a stay in June 2016

We booked Mulberry for a family 30th celebration and it was perfect! The best facilities and garden, and a lovely stroll into central Lyme Regis. We couldn't have picked a better home for our celebration, and we'll certainly be back.

Excellent stay in a beautiful house. Wonderfully appointed and totally luxurious. Loads to do in the area and beach area is idilic with lots of quaint shops and nice cafes and pubs. House location is ideal for walking or cycling into Lyme Regis. We will be back, ideal for a break with family and friends.

“Excellent accommodation for an extended family.”

A large house, looks like it was originally an old farmhouse, which has been extensively remodelled to a purpose-made rental property. Six excellent bedrooms, most ensuite with shower/wc, but also a family bathroom with a bath which we found really useful for the younger children that were with us. We were six adults and five children from 2 to 9 years in age, and fitted in with no problem. Great kitchen, fridge-freezer which dispensed ice and cooled water (the kids loved that!). Good cooking facilities too, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier in a separate laundry room. All spotlessly clean in the house, and linen ditto.

We did like the situation, as it was clearly 'in the country' but some may find it a bit remote since it is 1.7 mile walk into Lyme Regis down a (scenic) footpath, and a bit uphill on the way back, but you can of course drive, although parking in Lyme Regis in the holiday season is difficult!

Nice quite large gardens and outdoor eating area, but if you have young children they would have to be supervised outside at all times as there are unguarded drops in places.

Quite expensive in the high season although competitive. The property was being serviced by a local agency, as we understood the owner was abroad, and there were one or two issues which we were a bit out of order (like decaying/infested food waste in bins on the property when we arrived) but we did sort this out ourselves.

Certainly we would consider returning if the family could raise the ££ required!

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for the lovely review I am delighted you enjoyed the house and Lyme Regis. Apologies for the food waste, you are correct that we live overseas, I will email the housekeeper and make sure this doesn't happen in the future. I know the drop off you refer to in the garden - I'll speak to the gardener about a solution.
I hope to welcome you back again soon!

“Spacious and comfortable rental for families and large groups”

Mulberry Cottage is a spacious, well appointed and comfortable top end rental property just outside Lyme Regis. 11 of us from our extended family group stayed here for half term and we loved every minute of it. The kitchen is large, well planned and has loads of great appliances and kit for cooking and eating in. The downstairs living space is well planned to allow the TV room to be split from a smaller living room with wood burning stove, creating a quiet space. Nearly all of the 6 bedrooms are en-suite so no issues waiting for the bathroom to become free. The place has been tastefully decorated and has a brilliant garden surrounding the property. All in all this was probably the best rental place our family has spent time at in 10 years of half term breaks and is greatly recommended.
