“Home Farm House is a Pleasure!”
Reviewed May 25, 2012

My wife and I stayed at Home Farm House a few weeks ago. It is a beautiful house, set in an ideal location and within easy walking distance of good pubs and a good curry house!

The hosts, Peter and Melanie, catered for our every need and the breakfast was perfect!

Room Tip: Whilst there was no fitness centre, the local area is excellent for running!

We decided to break up our journey from Cumbria to Cornwall with a stay at Home Farm House and a great decision it turned out to be. We received a very warm welcome from Peter and Mel and immediately all felt very comfortable. The whole experience was positive, Peter and Mel obviously make a huge effort to ensure your stay is enjoyable and a real home from home experience. The location is just perfect, if you're visiting the historic city of nearby Oxford or breaking up a journey as we were it's ideal. Set next to a lovely village green it was fully utilized to burn off the energy of two young children, with local village pubs a short walk away and a great breakfast, (poached eggs to die for!) you'd want for nothing more....

I stayed here recently on a business trip and was thouroughly well looked after in a beautiful home. The family owned and run 'home house' is a really relaxed and welcoming feeling and served an excellent full English breakfast. Really nice local pub for dinner is only a few minutes walk. I would recommend this to anyone needing accomodation in the area.

Thanks to Melanie and Peter for a very pleasant and hospitable stay. The property is beautiful and the full English breakfast highly recommended. This is a great place to stay whether on business or for a break in Oxfordshire.

Stay was highly enjoyable as well as relaxing. This 600 years old house, full of charm and character is a harbor of peace and quietness. Plentful breakfast. Warm welcome by the houselords made this stay unforgettable. I am already looking forward my next stay in Oxfordshire.

I stayed one night on a business trip.

This is a fascinating place (600 years old?) in which to stay run by a most hospitable yet unfussy couple. Situated opposite the village cricket green, it is a characterful family home now offering a charming bed and breakfast experience.

My double room was full of character, most comfortable (with en suite shower room) and delivered a good broadband connection so that I could work efficiently. I had an excellent night's sleep with no noise to disturb me.

Breakfast was plentiful - full English and and a very plentiful and varied Continental are both available. I went for an excellent bacon sandwich. Breakfast is efficiently delivered (with lots of delicious hot coffee) in a large and comfortable dining room.

Overall, a very pleasant stay indeed.

At home Farm you enjoy comfortable beds in a charming old property on the Steventon Green. Everyone is friendly, from Melanie and Peter Miller-Smith who run the place to their children and dog, Tarka. Tarka knows not to bother the guests but if you warm to her she is only too pleased to be friendly. I highly recommend Home Farm whether you are on vacation or business - it is a super place to stay when you work in the area. Drinks can be made in the rooms and access to the breakfast table, a microwave and conventional oven and fresh milk is possible at all times - enabling you to be flexible with eating arrangements. Home Farm, for me is a home from home. Highly recommended.
