“spacious house in a peaceful setting; will definitely come back again”
Reviewed June 2, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We stayed in this house for a week and had a wonderful time. The house was decorated in fine taste and linens/towels felt soft, nice and fresh. We ate in all nights and found the kitchen really well equipped for home cooking. My favourite view is from the dinning room and kitchen where you can see black sheep grazing all day long. Also enjoyed the lovely walk up the hills with the friendly farm dog. Simon was a perfect host, very helpful and responsive to our queries. Although the house is in a remote place we felt safe as you could see whenever someone comes up hill! The WIFI signal could be stronger but was enough to do emails and web browsing. We loved the place and will definitely go back.

We're delighted you enjoyed your stay with us, thanks for all the comments you have made and for introducing a new visitor experience for those interested....walking Hamish our Lurcher/Collie cross. We hope to see you again and you are certainly all most welcome.

The WIFI in the house is fibre, fast as it can go, unlimited downloads with Sky. The speed of signal diminishes with the distance of the house from the local exchange to c13MB and unfortunately we can't do anything more to improve this in the short-term....if we can, we will.

“What a wonderful place to stay .”
Reviewed May 13, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We had a great holiday . Everything was of a very high standard from the rooms to the very large kitchen/dining area . The surroundings were fabulous and the little extras, hens eggs , homemade jam ,Hebridean sheep , table tennis , bikes, patio chairs added so much to our stay . Our hosts were very helpful and nothing was a bother . We found the farmhouse ideal for our large family and we plan to visit again but for longer next time .
Thanks Marian and Simon , Kirklandbank Farmhouse is a wonderful place .

“Large Farmhouse with Beautiful Views”
Reviewed March 9, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Arriving at the house, we were all stunned by how beautiful the views were and how spacious the house itself was. There was 10 in our party ranging from 4 years to 69 years. The house had something for everyone from access to great walks, sheep/hens on your doorstep, stunning views, a games room, a large kitchen/ dining area (big enough to do the 'Music Man' in!) and log burning fires. The house has two stair cases at either end of the house so gives a little privacy as only two bedrooms are up each stair case and the majority have ensuite. There is a bedroom downstairs too which is ideal for anyone with mobility difficulties. The area itself is lovely and we could have spent even more time exploring. The owners are friendly, helpful and there if needed - thank you so much for accommodating our family and hopefully we will return in the future!

“Beautiful house in a stunning location”
Reviewed March 5, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We spent five nights at Kirklandbank with children aged 8-14. Kirklandbank sits on the hill with the sweeping wide views below. With its south facing aspect you can watch the sunrise and set, the moon rise and set and spectacular stargazing at night. Behind the house you can tramp for miles across the moorland, in the next valley there is a beaver dam you can walk to, or a trig point within 15minutes walk for more views and fresh air. The bottom of the garden leads out to an area of forest where there is a blue mountain bike loop with a little skills area/pump track. We all enjoyed a few rounds of this each day.
Further afield we'd recommend the Glen Clova loop for a cycle (12miles or so) with fantastic food and real ales at the Clova Hotel. If it rains visit Dundee pool with impressive slides or the Discovery Centre and learn about the Antartic Expedition and go on board the ship.
We had 2 beautiful days skiing in Glenshee which is a 40 minute drive from Alyth.
The house is very recently renovated, lovely and warm and stylishly presented. There is a suntrap out the front overlooking the garden where you could sit all day relaxing. A selection of books and dvds have thoughtfully been provided by Marian and Simon who live next door. There is also a games barn with darts and table tennis. Smaller kids would enjoy feeding the chickens and collecting eggs (check with owners first) and saying hello to the sheep.
This is a lovely part of Scotland to visit and there are so many varied things to do in the surrounding area. Kirklandbank Farmhouse makes a very comfortable and pleasant base for exploring nearby and further afield.
We will definitely be planning another visit - raspberry season would be a great time!!
Thank you

“Very comfortable in a great location ”
Reviewed February 20, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Visited Kirklandbank with our family plus one other family. 10 of us stayed very comfortably in this great house.
Glenshee skiing is 45 mins away and if the weather doesn't allow too much skiing then there is plenty more to do. Bring your bikes!
Alyth bike park is minutes from the house and though not big it is great for all the family.
There's some great walks locally and the owners happy to advice.
As a place to stay with a family it is highly recommended. As others have said it's possible to help out on the farm. We've been too busy so not taken that opportunity.
Highly recommended.

“great house and location, stunning views”
Reviewed February 17, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

We had a lovely weekend staying at the farmhouse. Clean and tidy spacious rooms with everything you need. The owners were very helpful and accommodating during our stay. Views from the house are stunning - it snowed when we were there and after coming inside we could sit and appreciate the view from the warm log burning fires. We would love to visit in the Summer.

“Beautiful,spacious and clean cottage”
Reviewed February 9, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

The cottage is big, spacious. great for kids. If the weather is not great, there are some games to play indoor, binocular to watch wildlife. The owner has chickens and sheep.
The price for cottage is acceptable.
