“Idyllic ”
Reviewed May 25, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

This is a small cottage located on an arable farm halfway between Blairgowerie and Alyth. Located on the side of a hill, with magnificent views over the valley, the property sleeps 2 and was formerly a shepherds house. We have stayed here for 9 years and enjoyed every minute of our stays. The property makes an ideal base for exploration of the local glens; visits to the cities, Perth, Dundee or Aberdeen. The town of Pitlochry is an easy drive away with all its attractions or you can travel further into the highlands. In addition to the peace and quiet the area abounds with wildlife; red squirrels and Ospreys can be seen at the Loch of the Lowes wildlife centre 15 minutes drive away whilst the farm offers the chance to see rabbits, deer, foxes, buzzards, partridges and other birds. If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, homely, base this is the property to choose.

“remote and quiet”
Reviewed August 6, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Good cottage with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Cottage smelled damp on our arrival - perhaps it hadn't been used for some time but it would definitely have benefitted from airing and a bit of warmth prior to arrival. That said the online description of this cottage is accurate and other travellers reviews fair.

“A delightful destination for an escape from the busy world”

Booking the cottage was very easy. David very quickly got back to us by email to make arrangements for payment and directions (the cottage is a fair bit off the main road). The cottage itself is immaculate, cosy and comfortable, with everything that my husband and I needed for a very relaxed week's stay. There is no Wi-Fi at the property, but this is not a criticism - it was bliss to get away from the connected world!

A cup of coffee in hand in the morning sun... a rabbit and a robin in the garden, and in the evening, the sight and sound of rooks flocking into the rookery by the farm. What's not to love!

“Sanctuary”
Reviewed May 24, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

This is a pretty little former shepherds cottage which has been sympathetically modernised and is set on a working farm near Blairgowerie. Set in what can only be described as an idyllic location the views are amazing whilst the owners are the most wonderful of hosts. The farm is run in such a way that nature abounds; rabbits, deer, partridges and an amazing variety of small birds are seen. If you want to get away from it all this is the place to visit. We have been staying for 5 years and look forward to our return next year.

“A GREAT EASTER WEEK HOLIDAY”
Reviewed May 21, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

A great cosy little cottage situated up the end of a slightly bumpy lane way that wanders past farms. The views over the paddocks to the distant mountains is beautiful. Plenty of birdlife, bunnies, pheasants, some squirrels and one fox. Open fire to add atmosphere.
Lovely to chat with the farm owners and the extended family.

“You've made our wedding complete (honeymoon)”
Reviewed September 7, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We we're looking for a nice stay for two, that was quiet, nature and in good reach of most places in scotland and that's exactly what we got.

The cottage is situated in the middle of a farm at the end of a farm way, the next "larger" street is appr. 2 minutes away by car, driving through the farm lands.
The Millers are very friendly and helpful in any way and close by if help is really needed.

The cottage has all that is needed for self catering and several food markets and a gas station are 5 - 10 mins away in Blairgowrie.

We could reach most places in scotland in 1 - 4.5 hours, which for us was totally okay. In addition there are very very lovely places just near by.

We were welcomed very warm and left the cottage with a warm goodbye.

Thank you again making one of the most important moments in life even more complete.

Liked least: The house was a little cold in the beginning but the Millers helped very fast with that. It is a little wet in the morning inside so drying towels takes a little longer. But that's no big deal either..
