Description: Bistrot Pierre’s ‘raison d’être’ is great value French cooking and seasonal menus. We like to combine French bistrot classics such as steak-frites, boeuf bourguignon and tarte au citron with our own take on regional favourites like tarte flambée, Bouillabaisse and paté de campagne. Our relaxed and friendly bistrot is the place to go for any occasion. Open seven days a week serving lunch, dinner and breakfast at weekends we have something for everyone, from the two-course prix-fixe lunch for £10.95 and a two-course pre-theatre menu for £14.95 to the sumptuous a la carte menu, and for those with little time we now also offer a one-course lunch menu for just £9.50. Wander through our distinctive French wine list too, with over 20 French wines sold by the glass you will discover something exquisite to drink with your meal. For something a little special we also host a range of events at the bistrot. Join us on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month for our Soireé Gastronomique, a six-course set menu with hearty provincial cooking. This is outstanding value priced at £22.95 per person. In addition, we also offer a special Dine with Wine evening where each course comes with a glass of specially chosen wine. This takes place on the first and third Wednesday of every month, so join us for a delicious two or three course set dinner menu for £22.95/£27.95 per person. We want to make sure there is something for everyone on our menus, whatever your dietary requirements. That’s why you’ll find plenty of delicious gluten-free dishes as well as a child-friendly menu on offer to help make your experience in our restaurant as easy and enjoyable as possible. We've had a number of very good and excellent meals here in the past couple of years but the last two visits have fallen well short. There never seems to be the same staff in attendance which was one of the attractions and the new menu appears complicated with its special deals and various formats which clearly baffled adjacent diners. We opted for the pan-fried pork (£13.25) and braised beef (£12.75) from the a la carte, both of which were disappointing. The pork was very fatty and bloody which was unacceptable; the beef sadly overcooked and served with an unappetising mound of bacon lardons on top. This was brought to the attention of a waiter who quickly removed the pork and returned it to the kitchen where it was carved up into slices and stuck back under the grill. When the dish was returned, it resembled something which had been cut up for a small child or pet. Our complaints went unheeded so the bill for £46+ (including three beers) seemed excessive. Rather than travelling throughout France to sample the cuisine and selecting favourite dishes, what's needed here is a more responsible chef and a team who make diners feel special. It's not happening right now.

Went here with a friend for lunch. First course home made pate. Quite unremarkable. Main course was a minute steak which was almost inedible, stringy and very tough. Because I was a guest, I didn't feel I should send it back and complain. But, it was really awful. I would never go back to this eaterie, especially as there are other better places very close by, ie, Tom's at 101. Didn't have any dessert as just wanted to get out of there.

Dined here during May whilst on business in the area. A superb resturant with a great ambience. Polite, freindly staff who could not do enough for you, but without being over bearing. Fantastic choice of food, of which we had the two courses for £13.90 (but still added a desert at the end!!), which included a carafe of wine. We went for the red which was delightful. Great quality and quantity of food and I will not hesitate to return, and highly recommend to anyone looking to eat in Stockton Heath.

We dined here on the early evening 2 courses for £13.90.
The brioche with mushrooms was decisions as was the steak.
The service was good and it is a very pleasant restaurant.
