“Sun, sea and wonderful times on the Marina La Duquesa”
Reviewed October 8, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We spent our holiday here in September. It was still quietly buzzing especially at the Marina.
Fresh towels and cleaner every week means you didn't have to think about keeping it clean! Very important with the two of us, our two girls and their two boyfriends.
Firstly when we arrived we stocked up on food. Just a walk away to Eroski supermarket also Dia supermarket. A lovely English restaurant right next door to these supermarkets.
Every morning we walked to the Marina via the beach. Coffee on the Marina, then back to face the day.
Highly recommended to visit the Tourist information centre on the Marina. Very helpful with maps and ideas.
The only down side I would say is the bridge to cross to get to the beach. No problem for my husband but I am scared of heights! Nevertheless we crossed it twice everyday for 2 weeks.
We had our car so decided to visit many places. When coming back to the house after a long day travelling we would all plunge into the two pools which were beautifully maintained.
Many days were spent simply lounging by the pool. Eating at the house where the views were of the lovely Golf course and the surrounding areas.. We are not golfers but I would highly recommend this property for people who enjoy golf.
The house is extremely cool, due to so much marble. Outside it can be a scorcher but inside, lovely! A very impressive house.
The property is also very secure due to the shutters. At night we would leave the Windows ajar whilst sleeping but shutters closed. When leaving the house we would also close the shutters.

“Lovely Villa”
Reviewed September 12, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Great villa, really comfortable. Felt like home from home. Nick the owner was great and recommended some great places to eat. We loved Cubanga, the Posh chiringuita by the port. Live music on a Saturday and a big BBQ. Views at the villa were lovely, especially from the roof terrace - great place to star gaze too. Don't be put off by the approach from the main road. The golf club hotel appears quite derelict now, so it is a bit off putting as you drive past, but the house and surrounding setting are great and so long as you have a car, it's a perfect base, particularly if you fancy travelling round to the golden sands of Talitha ( bolonia is gorgeous! ). Local beach is nice and quiet, but shingle and on some days the waves are huge, so not suitable for little ones. Would recommend el Cristo beach, for sand, calm waters, friendly chiringuitas and very down to earth Spanish crowd ( if you are a Spanish speaker the language on the beach apparently was quite crude!), go in the afternoon so you can stay til the sun goes down. Loved Duquesa port during the day, very pretty, but not so much at night, a slightly coarse British atmosphere. We always drove car down for dinner as street lights don't work past the derelict hotel, so it's a bit scary at night. You have to cross the main road on a footbridge to get to the sea front. Pool, just a short stroll from the house, was fab...there was hardly anyone but us there, so we had it to ourselves whenever we used it! Small but very deep, so make sure little ones have swimming aids. Really had a great holiday here and would love to return sometime. House in particular is highly recommended.

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed June 22, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

This was a very nice weekend break. Big house, near the beach. I had a nice weather , but this is Spain and the weather is almost guaranty. The place is very clean detached to the golf course. Quiet location, Spanish little village with small English community, by the charming harbour. Highly recommend.
