During December my son and I had the privilege to stay at Bushwise Safaris, and what a wonderful experience it was! The management and staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms are exquisitely furnished, comfortable and clean and the view from the balcony is amazing. Elephant, hippo, crocodile, buffalo and kudu came to drink in front of the lodge on a daily basis and one evening we were lucky enough to even see a male lion and 2 females right in front of the lodge across the river!
Truly South African cuisine dinners were served outside under the stars while you listen to the roaring of lion in the distance. A bush baby came to visit during one of the dinners as well.
The guide told us so many interesting facts about all the animals that we never would have known if we went to the Kruger in our own vehicle.
For the best experience in and around the Kruger Park, I can strongly recommend Bushwise Safaris.

Hi Riaan,
I sincerely hope '8bitskaffe' from Sweden will forgive me for sending my reply that was meant for you to him, I don't know if I must blame it on old age or being blond in my younger days.... :-)
So Riaan, here we go again. - It was lovely to have both of you here, and thanks so much for fixing the handles of my sideboard, much appreciated! I do want to share this with everyone - I only mentioned to Riaan what a special piece of furniture it was(it took 6 strong men to unload it!) - It was made by members of the BaTonga tribe who live on the banks of the Zambezi river on the north-western part of Zimbabwe. Interesting facts about the BaTonga tribe is that they knock their front teeth out to smoke their pipes (Incelwa). Even more interesting is the fact that they are born with only 2 toes, from there the nick name 'ostrich people'.
Anyhow, the door handles of my sideboard broke off in transit to Bushwise.... next morning when I walked into the dining room it was fixed - magic!
What a kind gesture, and you are always welcome at Bushwise.
Annette

We love the African bush, and we always stay at Bushwise Safaris when we go to the Kruger Park. What makes this place stand out above the other in the region is the magnificent view over the Kruger Park and the river from your own balcony. The swimming pool has the same view, definitely the best place to watch the sunset during these hot summer months.
Until next time...

Room Tip: All the rooms are recently renovated and lovely

2 Swedish ladies of some age spent 4 nights at Bushwise; the rooms were lovely and immaculate with aircondition which we appreciated a lot. Dinner in the garden is stunning (would be very romantic for a couple). Food very good and a lot - both breakfast and dinner. All the staff were extremely service minded, friendly and professional. A very special thanks to Donald for the very good guiding tours into Kruger!

Hello again,
We have conveyed your thanks to Donald. We here at Bushwise are very fortunate to have such a well mannered and knowledgeable guide in our employment, he is definitely an asset to Bushwise.
We shared a view anxious moments on our return trip to the airport, with the time delay at the road works.
When you're in Africa again it would be great if you could come for a return visit.

Very nice and calm "resort" with good views over Crocodile River. Though the lodge is situated just outside the park it is som driving when you will go inside the area. On the other side the location has an advantage in that you can walk around in the neighborhood without being eaten by cats because you are outside the gated community.

Good food and kind and serviceminded owners and crew.

Hi Claes,
Thank you for coming to stay at Bushwise and for giving us the opportunity to share our amazing bird life with such a keen bird watcher as yourself.
Luckily the drive to the nearest gate (Crocodile gate) now only takes 15 minutes, it took much longer before, as they only recently paved the road.
Hope you enjoyed the other part of your trip in our beautiful country as well.
Tim

Me and my family took their 3 nights package and we enjoyed the stay very much. We actually came back after are a visit last year. Tim is a magnific host and the guided tours are very exciting. I especially appriciate the dinner out in the garden which are magic. For christmas they had made decorations and extra for us to celebrate and enjoy with the other guests at the lodge. A swim to cool down in the pool or having a chat in the bar is a good way to spend the hours when you are not in the park. Their new building with to double rooms are nicely designed especially the bath and shower. A bit nicer to stay in the old rooms as they are on the first floor giving a nice view. The morning walk is highly recommended.

Hello again,
Thanks for your return visit, was great to meet your two sons as well this time. Most of our clients also find the morning walk the highlight of their trip. One get to experience the Kruger Park in a complete different way - on foot, up close and personal with the animals.
Until next year then, we hope...
