Just back from a month's vacation in Africa. Our stay at the Royal Kruger was a highlight. From the time Rick collected us from the airport till our return 6 days later, it was a wonderful experience. Purchased this section of our trip through Living Social and we were a little apprehensive. We shouldn't have worried, the travel agent was very attentive and Vic (owner, Royal Kruger) was very prompt answering emails and queries. We found the lodge guides friendlier and more skilled than the Kruger Park guide (evening safari). They were amazing. They had the ability to drive and still see a tiny lizard on a tree or an animal in the distance that we could only see with binoculars. Watch out for the food. We ate too much and couldn't say no to Julie's 'surprise sweets'. Great value and would certainly recommend.

Room Tip: Lion room was quiet and close to the outdoor shower

My partner and I were lucky enough to have just spent 8 nights at this wonderful lodge, and we loved every second of it! It has been my dream to visit Kruger Park, and I would recommend Royal Kruger to anyone wanting to stay in the area as it far exceeded our expectations. Wildlife was quite literally on our doorstep during our stay, with warthogs, zebras, giraffes, kudus, wildebeest and baboons regularly visiting the lodge. Everything about the lodge is very laid back and makes you feel relaxed and right at home amongst the African bush. We enjoyed sitting around chatting to all the staff and other guests of an evening and having dinner together in an outdoor "boma" setting under the stars, some nights even being able to hear wild lions roaring in the distance. All the staff were excellent, very polite and skilled at what they do. We enjoyed all the game drives and tours organized through the lodge and with the help of the lodge's ranger we managed to spot all of the Big 5 and much more!

The only thing I disliked about RKL was the fact that we had to leave! We're already planning to come back!

My wife and I stayed 6 wonderful days at Royal Kruger. The lodge manages to strike a balance between luxury and an easy going laid back comfort. Service is good and the lamp lit outdoor dinners in the boma are great food with a romantic ambience. The guides are terrific wether your on a game safari or a simple nature walk. The rooms are fine, but the whole layout of the lodge means you will only use them for sleeping and you must try the outdoor shower experience. We just enjoyed the whole experience. Thanks Royal Kruger, we'd love to come again.

My husband and I recently spent 6 nights at Royal Kruger and were charmed by the relaxed atmosphere and friendly greetings from both staff and other guests. The game drives were terrific, as were the friendly water hogs, zebra and Kudu who wandered in in search of food. We were in Buffalo Room right next to the lounge drinking area of late night revellers and the 5.30am gathering spot for those doing a game drive. Noise not a real problem but a room further away would be best, if available. Being Australian we can never understand why other countries don't flywire their windows so they can be left open for fresh air. The 1500 zar each way airport transfer seemed a bit steep but its probably the only option if you don't self drive. Chase and Robert were terrific guides and Vic and the staff made us very welcome - like being part of the family. A really great holiday!

My husband and I had a wonderful 6 nights at Royal Kruger Lodge. We couldn't speak more highly of the wonderful, friendly, helpful staff and the warm hospitality of Vic in particular. The safari drives were amazing seeing the Big 5 in close proximity to the truck, particularly the spotting of a leopard in a tree next to the road. The food is homely and plentiful and the outdoor shower is a big hit with all guests. If visiting Kruger again we would certainly return to the Royal Kruger Lodge. Only thing missing is a hairdryer.

I had always wanted to visit Kruger National Park…you know one for the bucket list…and, after choosing to stay at Royal Kruger Lodge I couldn’t be happier with my safari experience!

Vic’s friendly service via email whilst we were initially planning the trip from AUS saw that we had all the information we needed prior to arriving. Upon arrival we were greeted by Sean, who was an excellent host and ensured that we had everything we needed from the moment we stepped onto the property, to the moment we (sadly) departed.

With the gracious and accommodating staff, delicious meals, comfortable rooms (serviced daily) and relaxing atmosphere the lodge really felt like a home away from home for me.

Your days can be spent out on safari with the thrills of wildlife spotting (thanks to our expert guide Robert, who seriously has a fantastic eye for game spotting), off on a tour to Swaziland, on a nature walk around Marloth Park or just chilling at the lodge with a massage – the beauty of it is that you choose what suits you most! Nights can spent watching the sunset over the river whilst enjoying a few cold ones, or relaxing on the patio at the lodge sharing the days stories with fellow travellers.

The atmosphere at the lodge is amazing - giraffe, warthog and other wildlife (including my personal favourite - ‘Kevin’ the Kudo), wonder the RKL grounds nonchalantly, giving you an opportunity to see these beautiful animals up close (excellent for photos – don’t forget to charge your cameras!). You can also often here the lions roaring at night in the distance as you finish your meal or drinks – just magical!

I recommend RKL to all, what a perfect way to experience a South African safari adventure - I can’t wait to go back!
