This is very close to the National Trust's Woodchester and to Uley long barrow (Hetty Pegler's Tump). This is a nature reserve, lookout point with spectacular views over the Severn Valley, and generous car park.

This barrow is roofless, as per other reviews, so looks very different to most long barrows. However, this means that it is much easier to see the construction of the chambers and walls of the barrow without being in the dark, squinting, with a torch.

This is a great place to start when visiting Uley long barrow, actually, as the layout and construction of this one means that you understand more about Uley when you're inside it, plus they are walking distance apart.

Very close to car park, high on Cotswold scarp with great views over the Severn valley. Remains of neolithic tomb from which 13 skeletons have been recovered in the past. Lovely walk around iron age hill fort about 1 mile down the road (roadside parking space).

A lovely area high above the towns/villages and a great place for walking. Not a lot of the Long Barrow left but notice boards dotted around with information.

Better take a trip just down road to Uley Long Barrow (Hetty Pegler's Tump), you can crawl in, but take a torch!
