The view is fantastic from the hotel.--we were treated to a full rainbow over the river. The rooms are small but comfortable. A hair dryer would have been nice. Great place to stay!

We stayed at Auberge Sur Mer for one night (2 adults and a 9 & 12 year old). We did not have reservations and the owner was very accomodating. The room was a good size with a large closet and refrigerator. It is not a fancy hotel but they got all the basics right. It was clean and comfortable.
The hotel is nicely situated close to the beach and the ferry. We were able to hop in line for the ferry easily in the morning. The owner of the hotel also runs the restaurant next door. We had dinner there and it was good. There were not a lot of English speakers at the hotel or restaurant but we knew a little French and they knew a little English and it worked out just fine and was quite pleasant.
The "Auberge sur Mer" is a ripp-off. You pay a 3-star-price for a 1 star hotel, by any standard. The fotos on their homepage suggest that it is literally on the beach due to the colour of the sand right in front of it. However, this is actually a black parking lot! In front of the hotel is the owners restaurant so you dont really have a view on the St. Lawrence river but on the restaurant (their food is ok, at least the best in this town). The furniture dates back to the 1960s or 70s. Their homepage forgets to mention that right next to the hotel is the loading ramp for the car ferry to the other side of the St. Lawrence river. So do not expect much silence but noise and fuel exhausts when the ferry arrives and departes. The beach which is 200m to the left is there but right behind is the armada of caravans of a camping site. Regrettably, what is shown on the fotos does not reflect reality. Better forget about this hotel and go elsewhere before being disappointed and ripped off.
