Had a fantastic weekend here. Pub and rooms are lovely and the food is fantastic. I highly recommend the tandoori seabass and the English Garden cocktail. We were a large group and all our needs were catered for with no fuss including vegans. Brian is a great host and his staff were all efficient, friendly and helpful. I'm definitely going back!

Stayed here for one night (sunday) on a Groupon deal. Arrived mid day after going to the local garden centre in oakham and was shown to a very large en'sweet room. This room was very nice with tea/coffee and some shortbread. Also shower shampoos etc. Very comfortable room with a large Tele and internet connection. We drank in the bar side and paid a decent price for drinks as other people have been complaining about the cost but sometimes you pay more for the surrounding you in. We later had a meal that was very nice & well presented and filling. Again some people seem to have had issue's here but for us the place, food, staff were all very nice. Would return as also in a very quaint village. Tip. Maybe upstairs room as floorboards are quite squeaky that may just effect downstairs.

Although we only had a snack and a drink. A warm welcome greeted us. Varied meals offered at different price ranges. Very quaint olde worlde pub. Food lovely. We didn't stay at the hotel. But seemed a lovely location.

Room Tip: Outer steps to front may cause a problem to a dissability. But at the rear of the hotel the access is flatter.

Really tasty fantastic food. They were busy with a large event on as well as all tables full and the staff were really friendly and we weren’t waiting long for our food. This was the best dinner we had during the 4 nights in the area. Lots of parking and easy to find. They were quick to respond to email booking. The place is well looked after and clean. Highly recommend.

Aside from the initial surprise that this Public House was not actually in fact in Exeter, I pleasantly enjoyed my stay! I sadly never met Marq which was rather disappointing. It was easy to find... using the sun. The nearby McDonald's added purchasing parity for the children. The room was cleaner than my criminal record and I fancy the receptionist.
