Quite looked forward to a stay here. Nice surrounding and the website does a good job of amplifying the few virtues it has.

On getting to my room i saw the door handle was coming away from the door. After unpacking i checked connectivity and saw no phone signal (not the places' fault) but absolutely no wifi! Big error.

The room is ok but full of cheap looking goods and a poor quality small-screened tv on the wall. Bathroom looks fine and the shower is excellent.

Moved into the restaurant to meet work colleagues and waited for bar staff to appear. A very friendly Latvian girl turned up and was a superstar (hence 2nd star). Had a few local beers and settled into deciding what to have to eat.

Started with a chicken liver mousse which was excellent (hence 3rd star) but the sirloin steak was as tough as old boots even though cooked rate and not at all tasty.

The bed was awful; sheets that didn't fit and a horribly lumpy mattress, sleep was not easy to come by.

Breakfast was very good. I had the continental breakfast and it was perfectly adequate.

In conclusion; nice village and surroundings, poor hotel, average restaurant, nice friendly Latvian lady!

Not too sure I'd revisit.

We stayed here while passing through and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality, the food and the village in general. The rooms are not that big, but sufficient, and the internet is good throughout the premises.

We are group of 8 families - comprising 16 adults and 14 kids aged 4 - 14 - who stayed at the Marquess of Exeter for 2 night last weekend. We ate at the pub the first night and the food and the service were both superb. The continental breakfast was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented with loads of choice. The rooms were all lovely, especially those that have been recently modernised, and the place was spotless, with really nice hospitality trays, linen and toiletries. This is a family run business and the team really couldn't have done more for us if they tried. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms have been refurbished more recently and are particularly nice, with very attractive colour schemes.

Excellent restaurant with rooms separated by courtyard . The hotel is within 3 miles of Uppingham and has easy parking . The restaurant service was very good . The double room was somewhat small but clean and friendly . As an overnight stopover with great food a very good choice.

We came across MOEH as the place we wanted to go was fully booked and we just drove past so gave it a go. It's always lovely seeing a nice open fire to have drinks in front of. The service was a little slow but very polite. The menu was lovely with lots to chose from but we chose the lamb to share and it was beautiful, It just dropped off the bone. The only issue was they tried to over charge us on the lamb but hey these things happen. Would definitely go back. Haven't seen the rooms so I can't comment but the bar/ restaurant was lovely
