“Disappointed...”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

We exchanged a two bedroom in Florida (Orange Lake) for a 1 bdrm here through RCI and was disappointed that they did not put us in the one bdrm deluxe. We have stayed at many, many resorts through RCI and personally we don't know how this resort got into RCI. It has to be the location! The location is nice and it is quiet but there's not that much to do. They have no activities that are free. There are notices all over saying that you have to pay for this and pay for that. If you took the unit towels to the pool you had to pay but there were not any pool towels so unless you brought your own (thankfully we did) we don't know what you would do. I opened the ironing board and pressed the lever to close it and the lever came off in my hand and I hadn't even pressed hard. Personally, we will never go here again. The unit was extremely small!!

We spent a week here. 2 bedroom condo w/ kitchen, living room. Very nice + clean. We exchanged thru RCI. There is a marina across the street where you can do kayak + boat tours. There are hikes in the area(10K right next door ). Not much else to do around here nearest cities are 45 minutes away. Whale watches about 1 hour away. It is a very beautiful area. Laundry on site not in rooms. We did really enjoy our stay here. It is more of a relaxing area to go on vacation, very romantic. We did take our children (13,21) they enjoyed it here, but would recommend more for couples.Nice pool + hot tub. Friendly staff. Only people in this area of Quebec that spoke alot of English were front desk. We speak very little French but it was not a major problem.

I think some of the reviews here might be overdoing it a bit. The area is beautiful and the weather was great; the resort itself is good but not spectacular. We were in unit 32, on the back row, so we didn't have the great view of the fjord others experienced. The unit (one bedroom) is well-sized although the kitchen is a bit cramped. The bed was very comfortable. The deficiencies we encountered were small but accumulate into a less than top rating. There is no window in the bedroom (the unit is built into a hill), so it is difficult to get air to circulate in order to cool the room down at night. The entry door has vertical blinds, which makes it awkward to get in and out. There is only one short towel rack in the bathroom; this area is humid, so getting towels to dry is an issue. No (flexible) spatula or cutting board in the kitchen. The wireless internet works fine, but won't stream a Netflix movie. We would definitely like to visit this area again. We might return to this resort, but would certainly consider other alternatives.

This is a property offering condos and cottages. On our recent tour of Quebec, we decided to visit L'anse Saint Jean to go on a kayak tour of the Saguenay Fjord. The tour operator recommended this site and I could not have been more pleased with the accomodation. Our unit (19) was a deluxe Condo unit. The unit was complete with fully appointed kitchen, 2nd floor bedroom with SPA tub, balcony, fireplace, and so much more. The staff was very helpful (we don't speak French well and they we're immediatly willing to accomodate). The kids liked the pool area.

I cannot say enough about this property. It was perfect in every way. Look no further for L'anse Saint Jean accomodations this has everything you need.
