My husband and I traveled to Interlaken in early September. We chose this hotel after reading great reviews and had booked a double room in May. Our trains were delayed so we reached Hotel Aarburg late evening. When we got there the lady looked confused and was clearly not expecting us. We gave her the printout of our reservations and she was even more confused and said they didn't have a room for us and were not expecting us, they didn't have any reservations!!! She checked her book again and said she only has one single room vacant but it would be really small for us. She said it wasn't her fault that they didn't receive any reservations from us, which is weird since we had a printout confirming one! Finally she rang another hotel and found us a room there and we were too exhausted to argue. Thankfully the other hotel was comfortable and the owners there were really warm and helpful! We later got to know that this does happen and often they find a room for the guests in another hotel. We had to pay the same room-prices as were decided when we booked and Hotel Aarburg would settle whatever extra.
PS: I guess since i didn't stay here I can't say much about the Value and Sleep quality rating, but i am unable to undo the ratings. Oops.

Room Tip: I understand that such things can happen but I would suggest that you call and confirm your bookings...

We ate here on recommendation from our hotel and were not disappointed both my wife's and my meals were freshly cooked and were wonderful. The waitress, whom we assume as the owner was very friendly, we even tried to tip, and she returned some of the tip, explaining it as too much as most if the service is included. The service was a little slow, however was on par with the rest of Europe! I highly recommend this place for Athentic Swiss cuisine.

It's a very interesting hotel. The main business is a restaurant with great local cuisine on the first floor and only after that as an additional function it is a hotel with ten rooms on the second and third floors. This feature means that there is no reception at all - you take your room key from a waitress. If you need any service you should ask waitress directly. Despite this approach the hotel itself is quite cute: rooms are clean, but not too spacious. The price is more or less affordable, breakfast is nice and wireless internet is available everywhere. The view from the window is magnificent: mountains and rivers. It's exactly what you expect from Switzerland.

Our hotel recommended this spot for true Swiss food. It's a very quick walk from Hotel Bellevue and in a beautiful building with a great view! It was full of locals and we even got to meet the owner, Britta. I got the steak and my husband got the chicken piccata. Mine was WONDERFUL but his was just ok. Both were between 25-33 franks and the beer and wine were reasonably priced. They definitely favor the locals when it comes to service, but that's understandable! If you're staying here just know that to get to your room, you have to walk thru the restaurant and the server handles room keys as well.

Ate here on a recommendation from our hotel. Food was great and had a yummy seasonal menu. Portions are large but everything was fresh and hot. Our party enjoyed seasonal lamb w local asparagus and pork stroganoff. The waitress/front desk/one woman show was a delight, she answered our questions about the food and gave us time to enjoy our evening. Do bring your patience as she does everything, takes orders, delivers food, checks in guests- they need to get her some help! Would suggest the apple fritters as a great end to your evening. So yummy!

We arrived at Interlaken West station and the hotel is just 10 min walk from there. It was not difficult to find out since all the hotels are numbered and you can easily trace them if you have a map of the place. We were overwhelmed to see the location of the hotel. The river linking two crystal clear lakes with Jungfrau as the backdrop left us mesmerized. Our room, though quite small was clean with comfortable bed. We were lucky to get a roadside room and a sun kissed Jungfrau welcomed us the next morning. Breakfast was simple but we really enjoyed it sitting on the terrace. The staff were quite friendly and we had an overall good experience staying there.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the road offer a great view.

Hotel was selected for its location and price(expensive for what it is but for Interlaken less so). When we arrived there was no reception area simply a busy bar. However the manager? /waitress was particularly good and by the time I parked the car 200yds away all the luggage was in the room.Sraight down for a drink on the small terrace and the view of the Jungfrau and Monch was tremendous with the milky turquoise river linking the two lakes in the foreground. I doubt if many other hotels had a better view.
However the terrace is divided in two by the entrance and there seemed to be an informal arrangement tht the locals used the right and guests the left. Looked interesting but no way were the regulars going to talk to the guests despite many attempts at "hello" etc.No problem until the one waitress sat with the locals for conversation and a cigarette.
The regulars were there every time we used the restaurant or bar including breakfast and were the last to leave at midnight. At one point when having our evening meal five card players decided there was not enough room on the right and moved to "our side" and literally shoved us along without any word spoken. That happened to be the meal when we were charged 13 CHF for an extra plate of hash browns. We did not eat there again and found the Cafe de Paris in town (interlaken) 300yds away in the centre.
Bedroom OK but bathroom tiny with small shower cubicle plus if went to bed before 12 had to close the windows to keep out the noise of the locals.

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking the river
