“I want to move in!”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

Had an amazing trip to Cape Breton, and the highlight was the Bras d'Or Lakes Inn. The hotel is a gem, with amazing, comfortable rooms, and a staff that is kind, helpful, and goes out of their way to make the stay memorable.
And then, there's the food!
We ate many meals in the restaurant during our 7 day stay, and the quality was superb. Chef JP Gillet is a master at preparing and saucing, and the other chefs are following closely in his footsteps.
In short, I'd not only go back at the drop of a hat, I'd move in!

Just spent 2 days at the Bras d"Or Lakes Inn, we chose St. Peters for our organizations provincial meetings. The weather was cold and damp but the hospitality of the owners and staff was warm and inviting. This Inn is cozy and located on the beautiful Bras d'Or Lakes. One of the great highlights is the food. You will find the menu is filled wih deliscious choices and no one could find a better cuisine anywhere. Compliments to the chef and do yourself a favour and try the seafood chowder!!!!!!

Thank you very much for your comments. We are delighted to have our guests feeling comfortable and enjoying their holidays. Our staff works very hard to keep the inn clean and attractive. Thank you again for taking the time to let others know about your experience here at the inn. Much appreciated.

We had the chance to stop in to this hotel while making our way through Cape Breton during the winter. The hotel came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. It was very peaceful, and the staff were wonderful. We were not in the area at a busy time, so there was not much going on, including at the hotel whose restaurant was not open. I can only comment on the fact that the Inn is very centrally located with a great view of the water, and the rooms were quite comfortable. I would certainly not hesitate to visit the Inn again when in the area.

Traveled on business and stayed at the Bras d'Or Lakes Inn. Even though it was off season and the restaurant was closed, I had a wonderful stay in a nice, cozy room with a comfy bed and a beautiful view from my window. The staff anticipated all my needs and took great care of me. I left an important document in my room when I left and by the time I got back to my office there was a message on my phone letting me know they had it and would send it to me right away.
I can't wait to be able to go again, hopefully in the summer, so I can enjoy everything they have to offer.

wonderful hosts, room was very comfortable and food was fabulous. Chef is a gem, dinner was great, including special cream puff style dessert with caramel sauce, and breakfast equally good with made to order crepes and omelettes. whats not to like. We will definitely be back when we return for Celtic Colours.

Thanks for your comments. Celtic Colours was a huge success this year at the inn. We had people here who love music and good food. What a great combination! Looking forward to next year.

If you are going through St. Peter's and need a place to stay, don't hesitate in going to Bras d'Or Lakes Inn. My name is Glad Legault and my husband is Rosaire and we visited the Inn along with friends who were travelling with us in the middle of August. Their names are Lorraine and Ernest Lapalme and Lorraine's Mom Therese St. James, and we are all from Montreal. We had the most wonderful time at the Inn. The rooms were very cozy with spic and span washrooms, the food was excellent but most of all, the hospitality was amazing! Rhoda and Jean Pierre were wonderful hosts. Rhoda treated us as if we were long lost friends that had known her for years. After supper local talent came in and provided us with fantastic entertainment. All of us who were there tapped our feet along with the music of the fiddles and played the wooden spoons that Rhoda provided. What an enjoyable evening. We stayed to the end and was sad it finished. We had to leave the next morning, with regret, however, if ever we go back to St. Peter's, you can bet your boots that we will be back to visit the Inn. Thank you Rhoda and Jean-Pierre! Hope to see you again.
