The pub is located up the hill, over Downings. It feels very Irish when you enter the pub, and the bar man offers a nice welcome.
We ate in the restuarant, loads of people were eating in the pub area. The restuarant was a bit quieter.
The food was great, and the value was the best we have experience. €27 for a three course meal, (including the excellent steak on a stone option).
Very pleased.

The best steak I have had for years, cooked a slab of stone. Washed down with lots of red. A delight. Great for families. Great Craic.

Looks great, all traditional and oirish. Looks are very deceptive. Service is very poor, at no point did anyone ask us if the food was alright. A shame really as the Caesar salad was truly vile. The lettuce was last summer's and the whole thing was a disgusting slappy mess drowned in mayo. Turns out there's not much singing either with just a couple of short spots a week. The chowder was ok though and the smell of turf smoke is beguiling. Not worth a return visit though.
