We ate here today after a long day out. We were greeted by friendly staff. There was 5 adults and 4 children in our party and we were all served our food in reasonable time. The staff were very accommodating to our various requests for different foodstyles. I will most certainly return to Keoghs for food the next time I'm in the area. Fast efficient friendly service.

Brendan Keogh and family have put huge effort into improving their food offering this summer and you will not be disappointed.

Great fish and steaks at excellent value make Keoghs one of the best spots for lunch or dinner.

If at times, the pub is jammed to the doors, don't give up as the staff will find a spot for you to dine and give you very good food and service.

Staying in a cottage nearby we used Keogh's several times during our visit to Connemara. It gets very busy during the high season, especially early evening and at weekend, but in good weather there is plenty of space outside for seating and in which younger children can safely play. We had three meals here over the week because it was convenient for us and each was good, generally served promptly but a little longer at the busy periods. Friendly staff and a vibrant atmosphere. A clean, well organised and good value pub with varied, good quality fare.

We spent the afternoon wandering around the highways and byways of this beautiful area (we were staying in nearby Bunowen), decided to try this 'local' bar attached to a supermarket in what seems to be the traditional way.

Busy was not the word, I think almost everyone we say out on our walk had decided to descend on this bar/eating place. It was heaving. We found a table and almost immediately service appeared.

There were 6 of us, including 2 kids.

5 of us opted for traditional pub fayre, chicken goujons with chips x2 (there was nothing veggie on the menu), a burger, fish and chips and fish pie. All meals were excellent value for money and arrived speedily (amazing in such a busy environment).

I opted for the Seafood Platter, and it was wow! The price was 3 Euros more than the fish and chips - this was amazing value, 2x oysters, smoked and non-smoked salmon, mussels, crab and a beast that could have been a langoustine or a cray fish. All was beautifully cooked, prepared and presented. I was not disappointed by my first try at oysters.

Service was excellent as was the range of drinks. One of our party struggled a bit with the fact that we were sitting in the bar, but it was fantastic! Would we go again - yes, just a note to self, arrive after 8pm when it all seemed to quiet down.
