Aigialia
Ranked #7 of 14 Pollonia B&B and Inns
Reviewed August 29, 2013 via mobile

Aigialia rooms is located in the small beautifull and quiet village of Pollonia. Pollonia is located in the Northern part of Milos straight opposite of Kimolols island. This where the best fish restaurant options of the island (Armenaki is a must visit) are located.
Aigialia is a complex of 9 comfortable and clean rooms located just in front of the sea. In contrast to almost every Pollonia B&B, Aigialia is located almost over the sea. Every room has a great sea view and the private volcanic sea "swimming pools" are just 15 steps from your room entrance!!
Popi&Nikos, the owners of the lodge are always welcome and ready to serve every wish and explain everything about the island. Just ask them.
With affordable prices and a unique scenery and location Aigialia is a trully hidden gem of Aegean accomodation and hospitality.
Tip: Try to sleep or have breakfast to the sundbeds in front of the rooms watching Kimolos. Pure magic!

We stayed 5 nights in Aigialia Roons in Pollonia/Milos.

It was the best choice stayed there. They have 9 rooms, of which 8 are facing the garden and the sea. The other one is on tha back of the house. But all rooms are immaculate clean. The interiour is basic but everything is there what you need and it is all working and clean as well.

The garden which is ending dirctly at the water is the place to have a coffee or a rest in the shades of the trees. If too hot you can go swimming in the lagoon directly in front of the house. It is really like a private pool - and no matter how hard the wind is blowing the lagoon is always calm.

The highlight of our stay were the people running that little gem.
Nicos & Popi were so friendly and took care of us in a remarkable way. It felt like being with friends! Thank you!

If I am back in Milos I definitely come back!

We stayed at the only room that didn't have a sea view but other than that we are more than happy with our choice. The room was comfortable and clean. The garden had a great view to Kimolos and the rocks in the sea near by create a "private pool" of the hotel! The accesories of the room were more than fine, flat tv and strong wifi signal. The windows were new with great mechanisms and double glass. They didn't serve breakfast but we didn't expect that for its price of 40€(no hotel near by offer that price). The bed was a bit small.
We would go back there definitely. We recommend it for sure!
By the way we loved Apollonia in general.

Aigialia is probably one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in... ever.

It's not fancy or especially luxurious, but it has everything you need in a hotel room in Greece. The rooms are simply decorated (in the most positive way), clean, beautiful view, 3 different ways to make your own morning coffee, fridge, microwave oven, lovely owners, it's own lagune, parking and AC (of course).

Like mentioned, they have their own lagune and the cliffs surrounding them are a lovely place to spend the day. Not too many people (at least in june) and we would rate it to be one of the better swimming spots in Milos.

All in all, we cannot recommend this hotel enough!

An absolute fantastic for the location. Sitting on a rock right on top of the beach , overlooking Kimolos island.Beautiful colourful garden with deck chairs overlooking the sea. I would give the location 10 stars.
Small , very clean and new hotel with very friendly owners.
However there is no breakfast served but this is not a problem as there is a bakery next door and the owners serve coffee and tea.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the sea are a must

If you have a chance to stay at Aigialia apartments, don’t hesitate, you will not regret it! We spent a week at Aigialia in Pollonia, Sept-12. It was end of season and the sea was lovely with pleasant temperature, a couple of days we had some strong winds and high waves.

Location
The location of Aigialia apartments couldn´t have been better. It’s a situated in a calm part of Pollonia, little at the side, with beautiful nature surrounding it. We arrived at midday under hot sunlight, it felt a bit far away while struggling with our bags, but it is actually only 5 minutes’ walk to the town beach, stores and restaurants.
Just outside hotel garden there are small lagoons made from smooth cliffs. There is also a little mini beach, so the entrance to the water is easy. The water in the lagoons is safe from big waves if the weather gets stormy. There were almost no people at all out on the cliffs so the hole area felt private, might be different in high season though..
Cypresses in the garden gives nice shadow and there are comfortable chairs in which we relaxed during hot afternoon ours. My man looked like Hemingway in his chair, with a cigar, book and a hat, looking at the sea from time to time. The atmosphere is dreamlike! I really recommend this place for nature lovers who likes quiet and private staying’s. It is very romantic too :)
Two minutes’ walk from Aigialia we enjoyed the most spectacular sunset the Island has to offer. You can sit on a cliff and watch the red sun rolling down into the sea, it sort of glides of the side of a big rock into the water, that’s addictive!

Hotel
The owners are a nice and caring family who gives the place a cosy atmosphere, they keep a low profile when they are around. All rooms have either a balcony or a patio facing sea and the garden is nice with small lamps that lights up in the evening.
Rooms are clean and very well kept. It all looks quite newly done. Decoration and colours are modern, in my opinion apartment standard is better than average on the islands. They clean and change blankets and towels every day. Beds where comfortable if you don’t want them very soft.
In the room there is a micro oven, a mini stove for coffee, fridge, a small icebox and some china. It’s not possible to cook your own food in the apartment, which at first was a disappointment, but the freshness of the room (without trace of cooking) compensated that. We had some very good cold plates for lunch and used the micro too. Balcony was just big enough for having breakfast, our hade walls on the sides that protected us from windy weather, choose one of those if you can.

To do
There is a nice spot for snorkelling at the side of a steep cliff across from the lagoons, to the right. If you don’t want to swim to the other side there are stairs to use. Follow the edge of the cliff to the cape and there is a cave where you can see colourful fishes . Try to make it there early in the day when the sun lightens up the cave. Town beach is okay but if you follow the shore further on you can find nicer and more private beaches. We also took the bus to Milos town and went on a snorkelling trip around the island. We choose one of the big catamarans, it had an engine and a sail too, so we did both. The trip took all day and it would have been fantastic if the meals have been bigger and served earlier during the day. If you go, bring your own snacks, we were starving!

Don’t choose a restaurant in the right section of the harbour in Pollonia! Follow the main road towards the mountain, just 100 meters away you find a very good restaurant: Apanemia with prices that matches the experience, food here is really enjoyable! Staff is also very service minded and helpful. Just across the street there is a lovely café with sweets, marmalade and honey to bring home.
