“Lovely place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2012 via mobile

The hotel certainly met our expectations. Lovely rooms, friendly staff and very good breakfast. The only drawback was the fact that there were two cats around us, while we were eating breakfast that would also "taste" the water from the jacuzzi...

The location , the staff , the rooms , the peace , the warmth , the food , the view , the quiet , the facilities were just perfect . I really struggle to find the words sufficient to describe our experience............needless to say we will return.

Room Tip: Ask for a deluxe room

Stayed there for a couple of days in June.

This Hotel is exactly as its shown in the pictures. Romantic , next to the sea , Jacuzzi , amazing breakfast , relaxing times.

We had a room right next to the sea view and the small door in the back yard was sending you out to the beach.

Only issue is that its in the right side of the island so if you plan daily trips o visit every beach in milos (something that you will have to do !) with your car you will have to travel every day some 20 minutes more.

Now what is the point of taking a hotel in a Greek island when you have so many studios in a better price is a good question , but if you can afford the price then go for it! wits worth every penny.

Tip : try the astakomakaronada in a restaurant in polonia !

We spent a couple of nights here in september, and were propably somewhat unlucky with the weather as it was very windy, so it was not really possible to swim in the sea, or do any sea excursions as they were cancelled. I had looked forward to snorkelling around the coastline but weather didn't allow. It meant we spent a bit more time in the hotel, although we did have a nice day on the south coast which was remarkably sheltered compared to the rest of the island during high winds.
The hotel in fairness is very nice, we stayed in a penthouse but I think on reflection it would have been wiser to get a room with a jacuzzi on your balcony. The penthouse was a lot smaller than the pictures lead you to believe but it was comfortable and luxurious. They have a keywatch kind of thing so they know when you are out of the room and clean it when you are out which is handy.
The outdoor jacuzzi just didnt do it for us, it was all a bit cramped and it may not have been helped by the weather which meant you couldn't really swim in the sea.
Most of the staff were friendly and efficient, but one of the frontofhouse were just efficient.
Appolonia is a very nice fishing village with a couple of good restaurants, particularly a fish restaurant which is the first one you come across as you walk into village from the hotel.
We rented a car in village for a day trip as boats were cancelled and like most islands it was great to just explore around and see all the rock formations and beaches.
So all in all, a nice hotel, but if you are more of the private sort get a jacuzzi on your balcony, otherwise not really worth the expense.

Room Tip: private jacuzzi

Its actually built along the sea side. We luckily picked the room facing right into the sea and there was nothing in the world to beat this beauty. The room are just perfect and the entire hotel is made very tastefully. its a real exotic experience.

Room Tip: rooms facing directly the sea

The hotel is Inconspicuous, situated in a small fishing area of Milos. The views are simply stunning, our room and balcony meant we could watch the sun set and the moon rise at the same time, moon light on the sea is so magical. My fiance and I went swimming in the sea and it was amazing, clear beuatiful waters, really lovely. We arrived after a long plane journey (13 hour delay in Athens!!!) and we did not think that the hotel could make up for the long journey we had as we were only staying on the Island for 5 nights and in total travelling time it took 20 hours from Heathrow and we were exhausted! When we arrived we were looked after immedaitely! This place is the nicest place I have stayed, perfect really as it is just so beautiful, the room was lovely, the staff lovely and the scenery lovely. The only thing is as we stayed slightly out of season the Spa area was closed, the owner showed us the spa area and we were so impressed and just a shame it was not running, We stayed there right at the beginning of October which is when their season is ending. Other than this though we would highly recommend this hotel, expensive but worth the money. You could literally just look at the view and relax all day. Milos is beautiful and there is a lot to see, going to the capital Plaka is a must and just driving around. Milos is great if you want beautiful scenery, if you like swimming in the sea and nice restaurants. We would defnitely go back and would definitely stay at this hotel if we return as it is spectacular. Gail and Mart.

What can I say a delightful surprise .We have travelled the world over the years and have been to most of the greek Islands . But Milos the Island is a very special place in the world and now in our hearts. The Hotel Melian one of the best. .We arrived at the hotel after 5 weeks of traveling and wanted to unwind prior to returning to Australia and our busy lives .
I could not believe the view when we arrived and you can not and will not forget the sunset and the sunrise .The staff are all very professional, .All world class trained . The Chef , Massage therapist to the receptionist. and support staff ...thankyou for making this a place so perfect. I hope to return one day .
The rooms all have amazing views with a great veranda .The beds very comfortable and the shower full force and has a large shower head .I have wanted to come to this Island for many years and I will tell every one I can that this is a place they must come to .Google the Island of Milos and see for yourself .I am a hair nad makeup as a business and will be telling as many as I can how great it is .If you are on your honey moon ,want to dive ,see amazing sites and unwind this is the island for you

The location great however you will need a car to see the island which is a must .
Day trips by boat is highly recommended you can jump on a group tour from the port for around 40 euro for the day starting 10am to 7pm includes lunch .visiting sites like Kleftiko.. the colour of the tranquil waters is mind blowing..
