This place was a palace and had been recently renovated, while still keeping it's 19th century character. My room had loungeroom with flat screen TV, double bed, cupboard and bathroom. Everything was clean and fresh and carpet thick and plush. Airconditioned and windows seal out noise- but you can open them for a bit of Ossetian musical culture at night if you like. Staff were very helpful and some staff spoke English- on one occassion when nobody spoke English there, they called a staff member at home to interpret for me. Reception staff were interested in my travels and would take time to ask me about them. Breakfast is not a buffet but you will certainly not go hungry! Prepare you stomach for some delicious but heavy Russian and Ossetian food- lots of cream, butter, salt, sugar and oil! Hotel is central to all main parks, shopping, cafes/restaurants, ATMs and supermarket. Street is tree lined and pedestrianised so no noise from traffic. I felt very welcome here and would definately stay again. You will find hotel on internet but you will need to call by phone if you don't have Russian keyboard. Don't bother booking more than 2 months in advance, they will laugh at you and tell you to call back later!More
