Beautiful view of Mount Fuji

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jun 12, 2012
We arrived in the evening and got a room facing houses and clouds. Next morning, when we opened the curtain, the magnificent Mount Fuji was staring at us, perfectly framed by our room window! Can't describe how awestruck we were! We just stood and stared, and grabbed our camera and went outside to take pictures with Mount Fuji. Shortly after we took our pictures, Mount Fuji was obscured by clouds and the view was no longer perfect. We felt so lucky that day!

We stayed in a tatami room on the 3rd floor and during the night, we experienced earth lateral movement. Apparently, earth movements are very common in Japan. The rooms were equipped with the beautiful yukata, LCD tv and kettle.

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant where they had giant crabs. The crabs were fresh and delicious but our experience was marred by a really rude waitress. We were so engrossed in our crab dinner and our crab shells were piled on our plates. Then this rude waitress came over, took one crab claw and told us: 'this... in here' and threw the crab claw in the steel bucket on our table. And, she showed us the fierce face and said 'UNDERSTAND?'. We were so shocked. We saw her go to the next table and slammed the entire plate of crab shells into the steel bucket. Due to the force, some crab shells flew into their food and their drinks! How rude is that! This behaviour is so unlike the usual Japanese behaviour, leading us to suspect this lady was not Japanese. Really spoiled the image of this nice hotel!

During breakfast the next day, the rude waitress was at the entrance of the restaurant. We made sure to stay far away from her and we enjoyed our food.

As we were leaving, the hotel manager came to say thanks and bowed his head, wishing us farewell. We were amazed by such hospitality.

We stayed at Fuji Mihana Hotel on Feb 6 after coming from Fujiten, a ski theme park. The journey took about 2 hours from Fujiten to arrive at this hotel.

A Taiwanese owned hotel, has been around for several years, I do not have the exact year, but, it is very well maintained. I am amazed with how Japanese function and maintain a building or facility while traveling Japan for the first. Japanese can multi-task and do many things in shortest time. However, the most critical part, doing things well.

The food served at the hotel was good, we had Hokkaido Crab during the buffet dinner. It was really fresh and good. Followed by the famous apple dessert. As for breakfast, it has good selection of local cuisine as well as international choices.

The only down side was our stay was mainly accompanied by rain, which lasted for more than 30 hours. In fact, when we checked out and left the hotel, it was still raining. So we could not enjoy the nice scenery of Mounth Fuji nor lake in front of the hotel.

The hotspring experience is also great, which was my best. The setup was easy and good with good description of rules & regulations. Yes, no camera allowed.

If you are looking into real relaxation, this is the place.

beautiful and quiet surrounding described the location of the hotel. it sits in between Mt Fuji and a serene, calm lake facing the main entrance. rooms were modern & clean. toilets were super small!!! we were blessed to have a room faces directly the mt fuji, hence, the view when you awoke in the morning was awsome! there's indoor & outdoor onsen for both male & female (separated of course!). breakfast was a good mixture of japanese & chinese (heard the owner is from taiwan...thats why...) overall, its a nice place for a quiet, relax weekend!
