I stayed for one night. The location is good, it has spa, swimming pool and video OK bar at the back. The menu are good. The room is quite good except that the toilet has no exhaust fan and bedit. A free and strong signal of WIFI in every place. The staff are friendly and accommodating, They helped me in ordering the longganisa for pasalubong. Before i checked out, my ordered pasalubong were ready, it was sealed-packed.

The rooms are old. They weren't that clean. The rugs were not changed. I even have to ask them to change them up. You will feel paranoid with the smell of the bathroom. The staff are so RUDE! before you order everyone was there, but when you are already eating, people tend to go away. I need to go to the bar whenever I need something. I need to raise my hand for so long and call the attention of the staff. THE STAFF PRIORITIZES THE CLEANING OF THE TABLES FIRST, OR THE KITCHEN FIRST OR EVERYTHING but the one eating! My experience here was horrible. I feel not so secure. and Imagine, someone is cleaning the walls of the resto up and the ceiling while you are eating????

The only good thing here is the black forest smoothie. this kept me ok at least in all these discomforts and horrible experience.

Btw, the pesto tastes like sea water. really SALTY!

We paid 500 pesos/night for a room which was air conditioned, has small tv with cable. The bed is not so nice but for 500, we got what we paid for.Considering we were out all day and just need a place to rest, this was a steal. Some food in their menu are good. Zero degree beer was disappointing though. Batil Patong is a must try.

Hotel Carmelita is a well known hotel in the area since it also has function halls for bigger events. It also has a pool. It also offers shuttle service and has a full service restaurant. A standard room cost (Php 1130). This includes a matrimonial bed and a single bed. Clean and nice location.

Cleanliness was not that good, rooms are old specially the beds. Small tv. The restaurant serve pasta which are quite good but not good pizza. Dont ever try drinking frap or any smoothies.. I tried different flavors but it has same taste. I wished they just placed oneflavor in the menu. It tastes like water with a bit of coffe and the price was same as starbucks but a way lot poorer with the taste. When i asked the waitress to change it, she never came back to update us about the frap. Very impolite

Yes, I stayed in a motel with mirrors on the ceiling. And guess what? If you press the remote on the top channels, you will certainly have good porn accessible. But aside from that, I like the location of the hotel, The beds are okay but the room smells like cigarette smoke. The bathrooms are okay but needs a little bit of cleaning to be spotless. The pillows are a bit hard and the beds too. The staff are courteous and accommodating but it took them some time to accommodate me. The service was great but the rooms never mind.

Room Tip: Get other decent rooms other than the motel rooms...

I actually stayed here twice.

First Stay:

My first stay was sometime late November 2010. The room I was given during my first stay was more feature-packed than the second stay. At the time, there were no more rooms available other than the family room/suite. I was give Room 303. It has a bed for a couple. The room has air conditioning and a 29 inch TV with cable channels. The bathroom has a heater which you can adjust to make it warm. The toiletries provided was a roll of bathroom tissue paper, soap and a dental kit (toothpaste and toothbrush in a box), The rate is 880 Philippine Pesos (US$20).

Room service is available but I preferred having dinner at the restaurant at the ground floor instead of eating in a small cramped table inside the room. The name of the restaurant is Culinare. It features pasta and pizza. The pizza I ordered is so-so. Nothing fantastic. But don't let the Italian sounding name fool you. They also serve the typical Filipino and Chinese food. The Yang Chow Rice is very good. The Batil Patong (a type of noodle dish unique to Cagayan Valley) is also quite good. The Tapa breakfast meal is good along with the brewed coffee.

[The previous review talked about the agent's rooms. The accommodations for agent's rooms are more basic and caters to travelling salesmen (and women). The agent's rooms are located at the back of the hotel.]

Second Stay:

I got room 401 on my second stay. It is more than a notch lower in amenities. The room is smaller than my first stay. The TV shrunk to 14" TV with cable channels. There is no water heater in the bathroom and no bathroom tissue paper. The rate is 650 Philippine Pesos (US$15).

The rooms are not appealing to me. They look quite ordinary or perhaps the color of paint is just wrong. But the beds are comfortable for both times I stayed here. But I would come back because it is acceptable.

Service:

The hotel staff is polite, attentive and helpful. The restaurant is quite good but the personnel may be undermanned when the restaurant is crowded or full. The restaurant also has a function room. There is also a karaoke room at the back of the hotel near the agent's rooms. More than likely, the travelling salesmen (and women) use the karaoke room often when they're around.

Parking is available but is limited to about a dozen vehicles. A security guard watches over the vehicles.

Wi-fi is available with a router on each floor and the restaurant too. This means the wi-fi signal strength is fair to excellent in each floor.

Others:

There is a Jollibee nearby and a Fracasso coffee shop not far from the Hotel. Chowking is further away. Leng Leng's is an old fashioned restaurant with good food not far from Chowking. The beef tastes quite good. Brickstone Mall is also nearby although I have not been inside of the mall. What is prominent at Brickstone Mall is the popular National Book Store.

By bus, Tuguegarao is a 13 to 14-hour ride from Manila, unless you take a non-stop Super Deluxe bus, which should cut this down to 8 or 9 hours. Tuguegarao has an airport with domestic flights served by Cebu Pacific Air and Air Philippines Express among others. GV Florida Bus Terminal is less than five minutes walk from the Hotel.

By plane, Tuguegarao is just an hour away.
