Beautiful Island where Pleasure & Peace comes together. Our trip was 3 days which is enough to explore the Park. Wild life viewing tower is right after the entrance at your left side. Its worth watching. Next is Hecla Village which is one of two most beautiful attractions on island. Spend time at this historic scenic village. Hecla fishing and Hecla store should not be missed in the village. On the way to Gull Harbor, there is a beautiful picnic area which is also worth stopping by. We stayed at Lakeview Resort (Just before Gull Harbor, at your right) which doubled the pleasure of our trip. Kids loved the hotel which had a friendly staff, nice restaurant, scenic big lawn, swimming pool, volley ball court, a decent beach and hiking trails. There were lot more in for almost all ages people like golf course, spa, free Wi-Fi, free DVDs to watch, and BBQ pits. Restaurant (Seagulls) have big menu for almost all kind of people including veg, non-veg, seafood, gluten free options, juices, burgers, fries etc. Must should try that restaurant at least once. Resort itself is not over priced. Though beaches at Hecla are unsupervised, but with little precautions kids can enjoy the water. The most beautiful attraction other than Hecla Village, is Light House. There is no drive way to that attraction so can go by walking trail. The trail passes from the Lakeview Resort too. The waters next to those trails are comparatively clean and once you reach Light House, you will love the purity of peace there. There are serviced and non-serviced washrooms all over the island near every main attraction. Gull Harbor Marina is the main attraction with a store, motels, and water activities rentals etc. Next to Gull Harbor is Sunset Beach (at your left) which is not so clean but worth visiting. At north point, there is a viewing tower and a picnic area with park which gives you another activity and a beautiful view from the tower. All the Park is full of hiking trails and bicycle rentals are available at Lakeview Resort. There are camping areas and some cottage rentals also in the island. Just before the main campground, there is a subdivision going towards the West Quarry hiking trail. It is one of the beautiful historic attraction. The whole island is so peaceful and great for escape from urban life and recharge yourself.
There is only one draw back of the island. The island trails are full of mosquitoes and you should bring some powerful mosquito repellents. Without that the pleasure cannot be achieved. Depending on your kind of interests, 1, 2 or 3 days will be enough to explore the island. It will be a quality time comes with the Pleasure and Peace together.

WOW!!! There is NO place as beautiful as Hecla Island! We drove about 2 hours from home. The drive is amazing, water surrounding you,the wild animals around.....So Peaceful....The park is so beautiful! They have few different beaches all around and a Marina ...... Imagine the sundown on the lake? The smell of fresh air ...the birds chirping! If you need a mental relaxing therapy, this is your place TO BE! We went camping @(Gull Harbor Campground). The sites are huge and very clean! The bike/walk trails are so quiet......people all around are super friendly and Kids are safe..They have a nice park ground too. 10/10 for sure!!!

Took my Girl Guide Unit here for Spring camp. The group site (site 1) was big and had decent shade. There was a covered shelter on the opposite of the road, was booked but there is that for an option. There are a lot off outhouses within a short distance. Each group site has their own sets. They are not cleaned daily, I do suggest bringing some cleaner.
There is enough garbage & recycling around, but are not picked up daily-- strangely there wasn't any wild life disturbance either ! We didn't even see a squirrel.
The park rangers on evening shift were amazing, even driving out to warn us about a fast approaching storm.
Only downfall The Mosquitos are extreme! My daughter got 200 bites in 48 hours, we went through 5 cans of bug spray! They are the only downfall of this beautiful park!
