Great motel in the middle of Gros Morne National Park. The room was clean, but could be noisy with a different crowd. Walls are a bit thin between rooms. But great service at the motel and great food in the dining room. The motel appears to cater to bus tours which I was a part of, Not sure if individual travellers would fair as well. Free internet included. Also has a community computer in the lobby.

We stayed one night at the cabins here. A little more expensive and a lot busier than other places we've been to. The cabins are across the road from the hotel that contains a small pub, a very nice dining room and rooms (nice ones facing ocean). There is also a small but busy theatre with local talent on premises that is worth seeing. Overall not a bad spot to spend a night. Very nice cabin, excellent staff.

We booked this hotel as we were travelling with our dog and it was advertised as pet friendly accommodations. We were charged $15 extra for the dog, which we accepted, but we were then given a room in the 2 storey annex across the street. The room was at ground level and we could park right outside the door. However the room was very tired, worn furniture, chipped bathtub, cheap faux tile paneling in the shower area. The room and bathroom were also very dark, only one small window for the whole unit. We also discovered we could easily hear the occupants of the room above walking about their room. We did ask the front desk staff for another room but were told there no other pet friendly rooms available. There were other rooms vacant, but not available to us. Bottom line, value for money was poor, and having to pay extra for this room because of our dog, was frustrating.

Thank you for your comments. As a result, we have looked into upgrading our pet friendly rooms. As regards the extra charge, you will find that most properties do have an additional charge for pets as there is extra cleaning needed after a pet has stayed. Not every guest keeps their pet in a crate or carrier and hairs, as well as the occasional "accident" have to be dealt with. Please consider us again as a destination. BTW we also have pet friendly cabins!

Booked a cabin for 2 nights using bookings.com, they oversold our room for the 1st night and didn't inform us until close to our departure. When they did inform us they offered an alternative, with not a great discount and weren't willing to negotiate very much. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to change travel plans so it worked out but word to the wise. Confirm bookings via telephone if booking online. I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else.

Other than that, our stay was wonderful, the staff was very friendly once arriving, the beds were actually comfortable (a huge surprise) and the kitchen full stocked. If planning on spending most of your trip in Gros Mourne, Cow Head is a bit out of the way (~30min to most trails and visitor center), but if you don't mind the bit of extra travel it's a great place to stay!

Room Tip: Confirm bookings via telephone if booking online.

My friends and I rented a two bedroom cabin...it was very nice, comfortable and everything in it was spotless and new. The kitchen was well equipped. The location was great, with a beach just outside the cottage. The only issue for us was that there were only two beds. We were 3 friends, and only two beds, and the motel didn't have any cots. There wasn't a pull-out sofa, either, so one of us ended up sleeping on the floor. In my opinion, a better configuration would be two single beds in one room, and a larger bed in the second. I'm thinking this would also be better if there were children and parents sharing the cottage.

We do appreciate your comments. Sorry that we did not have a cot available when you stayed here. Some of our cottages are equipped with cots. I'm assuming that you did not ask for one when you called. We find that it is always best to ask for a third bed when one is required. Thanks again!

Stayed here with my spouse for two nights while with a tour group for the Gros Morne National Park. Given the remote location, this motel is a pleasant surprise of well furnished, generous rooms and modern conveniences. Even better, a staff and management who strive to ensure your stay is friendly and comfortable. Our room included plenty of electric outlets for all our devices, heating, air conditioning, and a separate bathroom heater to ensure your comfort. Complimentary Internet WiFi service was good and without a password hassle. We had breakfasts and dinners in the motel’s restaurant which were tasty, plus they have a full service bar area when you just want to relax and talk.

Entertainment in the motel’s theater was a Theatre Newfoundland production of traditional songs and stories performed by a professional cast of singers who also played live music on instruments common to Newfoundland. Be sure to include this evening performance when staying at the motel.

Of particular note for those traveling with children who need a snack now and then, or travelers having to restock their provisions, the motel is only a short 4 minute walk to a local grocery store that includes spirits, wines, and beer.

BTW, our room had a wonderful view of the Saint Lawrence Gulf. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Room Tip: Let them know if you don't want a long walk to your room, but be sure to have an ocean view.

I stayed in a two room cabin, which was set up great. The room had nice fans for summer weather. The grounds were completely full when we were there and it was so beautifully quiet at night. I would stay here again. It was about a forty minute drive to the parking lot of the western brook pond. It was about an hour drive to Norris Point.
Now the Resturant is a differ story... We went for breakfast and once for lunch. When we went for breakfast the Resturant was less than half full and it too right at an hour for a breakfast platter and an order of pancakes. The lunch we went to had even fewer people than the breakfast and it took over on hour. For lunch I wasn't served what I ordered. I wouldn't. Recommend the Resturant. Service was weak, food quality wasn't great and it's over priced. Eat in Rocky Harbour.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our cabins. However, we are so sorry that your experience at our restaurant was less than ideal. The management makes every effort to recruit the most qualified staff to serve our guests. Thanks in part to your review, we have begun staff meeting for our kitchen and wait staff. Please allow us the opportunity to serve you again. Thank you once again.
