Flew to St. John's and drove across to the west coast. Grows Lorne National Park has stunning mountains and fjords and a boat cruise to places unaccesssble by foot. From there travelled north IP the Viking Trail to L'aux Meadows to see Boiling Villages, a real 70 ft. Long boat and Icebergs ! Continued on to the northern tip where the sun sets well after what I'm used to in New England to St. Anthony. A beautiful coastal community.

Varied scenery of beach area, pine forest, open meadow, winding trails. Give yourself time to enjoy the entire experience and wear a good pair of walking shoes. Moderate steepness in places.

not taxing and a nice short hike. The walk to the beach was worth it - beautiful. Nice to do early evening

Some people have totally missed what this trail is all about, yes it has a 100+ year old mechanic light house that is metal so it would rust under these coastal conditions, and it is not a huge lighthouse it is more of a tube!!. The trail is very well maintained with another trail taking you out to the head to view the geology, spring beach is a nice little spot for pictures. A large viewing deck is great for sunsets over the gulf the vistas up and down the coast are great, anyone who just walks to the lighthouse and turns around is missing 3/4 of this trail and it is a lot more than the little lighthouse.

Although it is only a short walk, 40 minutes. Still, it's not worth it. The lighthouse is VERY small and rusty. There are much nicer lighthouses around the park.
