Beautiful cabins in a fabulous location. Book ahead to be sure of a room. This is a comfortable place to sit back and enjoy the sunrise and sunset, the birds, the water and, if you're lucky, the icebergs.

Room Tip: Ask for the best view.

We stayed in stage head cabin which is right on the warf with a stunning view of the bay and waves lapping at the shore just a couple of feet away. The room was spacious with 2 queen beds and a sofa still leaving plenty of room. It was all spotless with effective heating (important with the harbour full of ice!) and plenty of hot water. Staff were lovely and let us take some crockery from the restaurant so we could put the fridge and microwave to good use.
If you come to red bay then look no further for accommodation. This is a magical place and the site now has the UNESCO status it deserves!

Room Tip: Just be prepared that the room doesn't really have full cooking facilities but, guess what, that gives a great excuse to eat at the tasty restaurant or the infamous labrador chip van

We stayed in Strand Cabin, part of the Whaling Station Cabins. How utterly wonderful it was to find this gem in Red Bay after a long day of travelling. It was quiet and picture perfect as all windows face the water. With no available wifi, one finds tranquility and peace being 'unconnected' for a change. The cabin was clean and the beds oh so comfortable. The Whaling Restaurant next door provided a excellent dinner and breakfast. They are well known for their seafood chowder, which is the best we've ever tasted. Somewhere we would definitely stay again and are happy to recommend.

A basic clean hotel room, with limited amenities...no wifi, limited cable TV chanels, no drinking water despite " boil water advisory"...expensive by my standards but there are not many options....food in restaurant good nd reasonably priced...go figure..

Room Tip: Chose the upstairs room so you do not hear people walking on the floor

Adjacent to the Red Bay National Historic Site, Whaling Station Cabins offer historic refurbished accomodations with incredible views, great service and congenial hosts. The owners, Marilyn and Bim Bridle take pride in their business and it shows. The staff are local people also; always happy to offer a hand or tell a tale.
