This hotel is in the middle of rice fields and a long trip from a town (5 minutes in the car).
The location is great you will find it very relaxing. all around is the green of the rice fields. You hear the birds and wildlife all around, be amused as the dog will chase the occational lizzard. we even saw eagles soaring in the skies.
The room was new and very clean. simple but very modern. wodden furniture. Shower was good and bathroom cery clean too. the hotel owner was very helpfull and couldn't do enough for you to make your stay comfortable.

Room Tip: All their rooms are nice, at the moment there is only 4 rooms available. Making this a very nice an...

Nice clean rooms, good local food, real value for money and very friendly owners with ambition to design above local standard. The house is located in the rice fields close to the lake but no lake view. We enjoyed 2 nights and recommend it.

We had a really pleasant stay here with clean, comfortable and modern rooms. The food was delicious and catered for all tastes. The host/owner was friendly and made our two nights there so relaxing after a busy few days before. We would highly recommend staying here as the rice fields and birdlife around you can only lead to time out for a few days before your next sightseeing outing.

We stayed here for 2 days on our trip to Yala National Park. Hotel is newly build neat, clean and spacious and has every thing to make our stay comfortable. Owner Jagath is nice and friendly. After a long day in Yala we used to unwind by enjoying wine in the garden in front of the room. I highly recommend it

This wonderful little hotel leaves nothing to be desired. We arrived by night and yet felt good immediately. The room was large with a high ceiling, furnished in stile by use of a lot of wood, everything was clean and all right. As it turned to be, the shower had not merely hot water but also a sparkling water pressure. Perfect.
Jagath, the owner, served us a very tasteful meal - the first of some in the course of the next days – and we were able to enjoy his hospitableness for the first time. Next morning, after a a very comfortable night (it’s quiet), we first realized the marvellous location of this hotel - a little island in the midst of green rice fields, but still quite near to the lake. Hard to descripe - you should see it ! We stayed there for three nights. Definitively, this guest house was the right choice !

Arrived at Serene Hotel after a long journey. We were greeted by Jagath, the owner with a friendly smile and welcome drink. The rooms are spacious and clean with fan and ac. En suite shower room is clean, lots of hot water. Jagath prepared a delicious Sri Lankan lunch and dinner for us. We would highly recommend it, it is excellent value for money and in a perfect location to visit Yala National Park.

We stayed at the hotel for only one night but wished we could have stayed longer. The food was the best we experienced throughout the entire trip. Jagath, the owner, was extremely welcoming & helpful. He not only arranged our safari at a good price with a fantastic guide but also organised a driver for us to get to our next destination. Both with only a days notice.
After we departed, we realised we'd left an sentimental item. Jagath took the time and effort to post it to Australia for us. If that wasn't enough, a bag of Sri Lankan tea was included in the parcel!
The rooms were clean and spacious and the hotel is situated in a beautiful spot across from a lake among gorgeous fields.
