“great place to chill out”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

Had 2 days here after a hectic week travelling around, it was just what we needed. Chalet style accommodation centred around a small swimming pool, all set in lovely gardens. Just off the main road, so nice and tranquil. Room was huge, all seemed quite new, and well fitted out, main building was a short walk away.
Our only gripe was the food, buffet style dinner, very boring, very disappointing, seemed as though they were penny pinching, such a pity, as this place has all the makings of a great hotel.
Very handy for trips to Yala National Park.

Room Tip: All chalet style rooms are good, about 12 in total, all round pool, think there may be a few in main...

This hotel is out of town but is magical with five cute blocks hosting only door rooms. It's more like a resort than a hotel. These rooms are centred around the pool with great food on offer. Both local and European. You'd be bored of you we're a solo traveller but lovely to relax

The best hotel in 10 days, big size rooms, absolutely clean rooms and bathroom, very good linen, great swimming pool and fantastic buffet dinner! Very friendly staff! Good choice to start early morning Yala NP visit!

We stayed at the Hibiscus Garden Hotel on the recommendation of our driver.

It was a bit more than we intended to spend, but then we learned that the rate included all of our meals. It was a charming, quiet place with lovely gardens and a small swimming pool. The room was spacious and clean.

The home-cooked food was absolutely delicious (assuming you like Sri Lankan food). Presentation of all meals was lovely, too. On the morning with an early safari they had a packed breakfast ready for us - we didn't even have to ask.

I'd gladly stay here again.

As we were booked into this hotel as part of a package we did not know the price paid. It is pleasant enough for a moderate or cheap rate. The garden setting appealing but first impressions disappointing - almost no reception service, lack of English spoken by young well meaning staff lacking direction. No information in room or elsewhere. Other guests reported returning after dinner out to find front door locked, without prior warning. Large rooms and bathroom comfortable but single small lumpy pillow, and hot water unreliable. Garden pleasant enough wih paddy fields around, lots of birds. Nice pool, but lounger covers or pool towels not readily available. Restaurant only basic but adequate. Non alcohol day not explained in advance until we returned hot and tired from a trip out and tried to order a beer. Overall adequate, a quiet garden setting, but not much more.

The hotel is beautiful, new building that offers 16 rooms which are bungalow style. The main building being the reception, dining area and bar. Meals were lovely and cooked fresh in front of you if you wished. Drinks were not included but were average priced.
The rooms were spacious, clean and modern however did house local wildlife (geckos) which some peple would not be happy about. The beds were firm but comfortable and our beds were decorated with flowers personal to us. our room had a pool view and was surrounded by little ponds and trees making you feel like you was in the middle of nowhere.
We had a party arranged as it was my hubbys birthday and a cake and alcohol was provided by Luba and the hotel, with a table set up near the pool for the night of celebrations.
Amazing little hotel that is ideal for a few nights however i feel the location and inability to get around easily would hinder if you were to stay for long periods. thus said it is a short distance from yala and we would go back.

Nice resort with garden, swimming pool (ask towel at the reception) and birds flying and twittering around. After a game drive it's nice to relax at the swimming pool - but not much parasols and deckchairs. Rooms are spacious, clean, good. You can take a breakfastpackage with you when you go on a early gamedrive. Meals are oke. You're not at walking distance of Tissamaharama centre.
