We had 5 days at the Cavas Wine Lodge during our recent honeymoon. We didn't want to leave at the end of our stay. The accommodation was superb, with outdoor jacuzzi, plunge pool and roof terrace (with wood-burner for nighttime star gazing). All of the rooms are literally surrounded by the vineyard, with numerous Chimangos (like falcons) and owls swooping around outside. The location is AMAZING with uninterrupted views of the Andes, with stunning sunrises and sunsets. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the owners made a real effort to get to know us during our stay. We attended a fantastic evening of tango demonstration, as well as wine tasting evening featuring a local winery. The spa was hugely popular so book ahead. A highlight was horse riding around the vineyards with a couple of gauchos. The food was very good, although the menu could have varied a little more from day to day. Overall, full marks.

I expected a lot more, room was dark and dusty, staff a bit scattered, spa not very special and not kept up really well. The staff was very accommodating and friendly but lacked training, they always seemed a little confused.
The wine trips were average and the wine presented at tastings were young and unimpressive.
Very expensive stay, not worth the money

My parents and I stayed at Cavas for three nights in August and loved every minute. The casitas were terrific (and the staff thoughtfully put my parents and I in adjoining ones): large living area with a comfy couch and flat screen TV, large bedroom with great linens, and a massive walk-in closet and a generous bathroom area. I had trouble getting the hot water to kick on each day, but each time the staff at the front desk addressed the problem immediately and solved the issue within minutes. It gets pretty chilly at night, but you'd never know it inside the casitas. I loved that the turn-down service each night included leaving hot water bottles within the duvet. What an unexpected and cozy surprise. Also loved lounging on the casita's roof deck. It really does not get much better than sitting up there with a glass of wine, fire roaring, while looking out on the Andes. Hoping to return to Cavas in the warm season so that I can enjoy the plunge pool.

The staff at Cavas also deserve a special mention as they went above and beyond to make sure that my parents and I got the most out of our stay. Well in advance of our stay, I emailed with the staff to plan winery outings and to book restaurant reservations - the staff was prompt and accommodating with every single request. And once we arrived - greeted with a glass of Cavas rose - we knew we were in good hands. Sebastian in particular was exceptional. He knew that we were heading back to BA and on our last night went out of his way to give me a list of his favorite brunch spots in BA. And they were spot on.

The complimentary wine tasting on our arrival was fabulous: a great introduction to the local varietals. Cavas reserve bonarda is not to be missed. The food at Cavas was also exceptional. We particularly enjoyed the asado the staff prepared on our last night (as well as the tango show!).

Loved every minute of our stay and looking forward to a return trip!

Room Tip: All of the casitas are laid out the same and each come with a plunge pool. I don't think any hav...

Cavas was definitely an unforgettable experience in Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza. The hotel service is impeccable, very attentive and personalized.
When we arrived, the staff was waiting for us with wine glasses in hand. It was late, so asked if we wanted to go to dinner, before, even, to do the check. Very good restaurant!
It was really cool because we were tired and hungry, we traveled all day long and the GPS still made us take many turns before arriving.
Even before we arrived the concierge was very collaborative, sent email offering options for visits to vineyards and restaurants. We have the chance to visit bodegas smaller and more interesting than the largest bodegas.
In the room there was a bottle of wine and a welcoming card waiting for us.
The hotel is very well maintained, clean and cozy. The room was spacious, with fireplace, bathroom with a nice hot tub and there was a small pool in the front. Great view from the mountains!
It also has a terrace with fireplace, super cool and romantic.
The sunrise is beautiful, the color of sky is pink. They've left a note in the room, warning us about the dawn. Stunning view!
We left very early, still served us breakfast. We did not expect to serve us out of hours. Surprising! It was the best hotel we have stayed in Argentina and hope to return! Super recommend!

One of the best hotels I've been. Starting with the location that is stunning, with amazing views of the Andes. The tasteful architecture, with spacious and nicely decorated rooms. It is impossible not to feel good at this hotel. It is very welcoming. The staff working at the hotel, deserves a note apart. They all are 10. Attention and sympathy that I had never seen. They do everything to please you, even unexpected surprises that never left your memory. I can not tell the surprises because it will spoils it, which should vary according to the profile of the guests. We lunched and dined in the hotel, that offers excellent food and a great and varied wine list.
The spa and sauna are very attractive and should be used for a relax after a day of wine tasting at wineries around the hotel. For sure you will find this place a paradise. All of the hotel are to be congratulated!

Room Tip: Choose a room with the Andes view.

I can't say enough good things about Cavas Wine Lodge. My husband and I stayed here for a few days during our honeymoon and were delighted at every turn. The rooms, as other reviewers have noted, are spacious and lovely. The plunge pool on our patio was a treat (even in winter!) as were the hot water bottles at the foot of our bed each night. The views of the vineyards in front of the Andes were thrilling. But, the stars of the hotel are really the staff, who are endlessly patient, helpful, and funny. In particular, Marcello, Sebastian, Soledad, and Fabio worked very hard to make guests' stays memorable. Carlos, one of the drivers, also made getting to each of the destinations as pleasant as the destinations themselves. I think the quality of service was is best demonstrated by the treatment we received when we were leaving the hotel: We left at 2:45 AM for an early flight and the night concierge arranged a special breakfast for us, with coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. We are looking forward to returning in the future.
