“Wonderful and amazing lodge to stay in Mendoza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2013

The entire Lodge is wonderful, with a great service and an outstanding landscape. The place is just in front of the Andes.
The room was so comfortable, actually it's not a room, it's a kind of suit in the middle of the vineyard.
I spent 3 days in Cavas with my wife, enjoying the place and the food, the restaurant is really great and the wine list is wide.
I highly recommend this Lodge, it's more than a place to stay, it's all an experience.

I stayed for holidays, around 4 days with my husband and everything was perfect. The hotel location is wonderful for getting around and visiting all the winery places, the location could not be any better, with a breathtaking view of the Andes, a refreshing Spa and in the middle of beautiful winery it is a perfect resting place. The owners of the hotel are just so sympathetic and careful with every single detail, it is impossible that you will not enjoy the place. They offer dinners and wine harmonization and spectacular options and you can also visit one of the restaurants in town. Diego, our tour guide there was just wonderful! We so much recommend this place that we miss and definitively would love to come back!

I can't think of anything that could have been better with our experience. The rooms are spacious, the views are amazing, the staff is friendly, the food is good, everyone goes out of their way to make your experience perfect. Our second night we slept really late and when we got up we asked how late we could have breakfast and were told that we could eat whenever we wanted .. So we had breakfast at 130 pm, Try the four hands massage in the spa. Thanks for an amazing visit!

We just returned from our third stay at Cavas and would like to extend our thanks and congratulations to the owners and staff. The place is still gorgeous and the service is still impeccable. You can believe the other positive reviews on this site.

We look forward to our next stay.

Our stay at Cavas was vinetastic! From the moment we stepped off of the plane in Mendoza we felt as if we were part of the Cavas family. Our driver Carlos, who also ended up being our tour guide for most of our stay, made us feel comfortable and special.
As it turned out he was not the only one. As soon as we walked up the steps to the lodge, my wife and I felt that the entire staff sincerely wanted to make our stay something special. And it was.
It wasn't just that the service, room, club house and property were outstanding and worth the trip alone, it was the daily itineraries that they set up for us that took our trip to a whole new level.
They made all of the arrangements for winery tours, lunches, dinners, horseback riding and anything else we could think of during our stay. All done without any pressure on timing or schedule. In fact they booked us a horseback riding trip in the Andes for a certain day and ended up changing it to another day because the weather would be better. It's just an example of their level of service.
My wife and I would like to thank the entire staff especially Juan,Sebastian , Carlos and owner and host Celcilia for a very memorable stay.

We had high expectations of Cavas wine lodge as it was one of the most expensive stops on our honeymoon and has received much praise on trip advisor and in many guides and in the press. The setting is unbelievable and every bit of what it looks like on the hotel website - rolling vines against the snow capped Andes and every room has this view from your private terrace. Below you have a private plunge pool (too cold for us in May!) and sun loungers - you can lie there sipping cold rose looking right at the grapes that produced the wine in your hand. It is totally peaceful and yet if you want something the staff emerge from nowhere to attend to your every whim. We loved our large bathroom and the bed was the best I've ever slept in. The staff were all clearly well trained and very good at what they do. The owners, Martin and Cecilia, were both on site while we were there and they make the effort to talk to guests and give the whole experience a personal touch. It was only the Relais and Chateaux plaque on the door that reminded me there is a larger company even involved here. They make great picnics and give good advice on the local wineries. The tasting with the sommelier on the first night gives you an insight into the wines of the region and helps you to decide which producers you want to visit and do tastings with. We borrowed the hotel bikes to visit wineries and be warned - some of the roads are incredibly busy! I had images of breezing through lush vineyards on a bike with a basket and it is actually quite rough terrain and you have to cross a major freight road to get to half of the local wineries...and you definitely need a mountain bike! Having said that, the hotel will tell you about the routes and can organise a wine safari in a private vehicle if you don't think biking is part of your Cavas experience! Real high points for us were sitting under sleeping bags (call reception and they bring them) and furs with a glass of Malbec and a roaring fire in our terrace under such an impressive star scape. Private dinner in the wine cellar (which sounds honeymoon naff but wad actually really beautiful and memorable) Achaval Ferrer wines, the huge and beautiful bed complete with hot water bottles at night. Nespresso machine for that early morning coffee watching the sunrise from your terrace, wandering through the vines and learning about the wines and the history of the various regions. The absolute only complaint we have about this truly exceptional hotel is one snack we ordered to our room - the chicken was undercooked (obviously so) and you really do expect better from an establishment of this calibre and price. However, the staff responded entirely graciously and appropriately and everything else that passed our lips was really very good. I wanted Cavas to be a highlight of this trip and it did not disappoint. We'd come back here in a beat and stay for a week, and would never tire of the superb wines this region has to offer. HIGHLY recommended for anyone who loves to be somewhere unique, loves food and wine and appreciates the small but obvious differences between 5 star and something else.

Cavas Wine Lodge is a piece of heaven in Mendoza! Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly staff and a delicious glass of rosé. We then enjoyed lunch on the patio surrounded by the beauty of the Andes and vineyards as far as the eye could see. Really a beautiful and memorable spot. Everything was perfect. We toured wineries, had some amazing meals (the lunches at the wineries were delicious!) and even went horseback riding through the vineyards at sunset. The staff at Cavas goes above and beyond to make your stay perfect! The accommodations are impeccable and you get the feeling that someone has really put their heart and soul into this place. We would go back to Argentina just to visit Cavas Wine Lodge again. It was that good!
