Based on the many excellent reviews on this website, we had really high expectations for Villa Mansa when we stayed here for our honeymoon in November 2017 and the hotel fell a bit short. It is a very comfortable and pretty hotel but overpriced and they didn’t do anything to make us feel special on our honeymoon, which would have gone a long way to make this a 5 star review.
I think that part of the appeal of this hotel is that it is so remote and quiet, but the construction mentioned in previous reviews is continuing until sometimes 8pm in the evenings. Our room overlooked the parking lot where construction workers were loudly unloading gravel while we tried to enjoy happy hour from our porch.
We found that the restaurant was actually pretty good. Breakfasts were great and the waiter at dinner, Emiliano, was especially wonderful! We also appreciated that it is well located- we were able to walk to two wineries (Bodega Vistalba and Kaiken) for tastings but everything else required a car.More
