“Great Trekking!”
Reviewed May 23, 2013 via mobile

Booked our trek through our hotel who called Fefe late the previous evening. Luckily we were put on a trek the very next day.
Our driver collected us just after breakfast, a lovely guy called Mauro (sp) who chatted in good English on the drive up to Colanguil headquarters where we picked up Fefe. He was friendly and easy to chat too although not as great with English as Mauro which was fine as we were able to work on our Spanish with him.
After a quick stop at a base camp we headed off, I'd explained that I'd recently had a knee op and felt very well looked after all the way. The walk was pretty tricky in places but Fefe was great, encouraging and helpful whilst giving us space to enjoy the views and the experience. We had a great picnic at the top of mountain, Fefe was very sad that he'd brought all the equipment to make some coffee but no lighter! It didn't matter at all as he'd all ready looked after us well with water, sandwiches, olives, fruit and nuts.
I'd definitely recommend his company based on our experience. Great guy and a competent guide.

“Best Guide ever”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

We did a morning hike (also arranged by Cavas Wine Lodge) with Fefi and took the harder route up a very big hill. Had a fantastic walk and Fefi was a great guide. You know your guide is good when the worst happens and your guide is able to deal with the situation; My husband had a fall and broke his ankle! Fefi managed to run back to base, rustle up 3 more strong men to put my husband on a stretcher and carry him down hill (no easy task, I can assure you). He then organised, and came with us to a clinic in Mendoza, where the ankle was x-rayed and plaster casted. Full marks to Fefi for everything.

“Hiking in the foothills of the Andes”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

One of those great experiences, up to 11,000 feet with lunch at the top. Our guide, Fefi, was just terrific. He gauged our ability (we are in our 60's) and helped us across rocky streams, little walls of rock. He can operate any camera to take the best pictures of you on your trek. And he was positively pleasant and cheerful all the way. He knows all the other players on the hillside, and we had a ball.

“Excellent day”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

I dont usually leave comments on tours on these websites but this tour was a genuine great day. we were a typical aussie couple just looking for something cool in mendoza and fernando showed us a great day and at the same time taught us some spanish as well. we did the trek up potrerillo mountain, then repelled down the rock face and then did 2 very challenging rock climbs. all in all a great day. you are always going to have a great day on tours if u have a good friendly guide and they are willing to tell you more about the country and the culture and fernando did all this. Wish him all the best with the company

“Morning hike with Fefe”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

We did a morning hike with Fefe in late January that was organized from Cavas Wine Lodge, great place by the way, and my husband and i did the more difficult hike. Suddenly short of breath, i needed to slow the pace but we easily made it to the top, great views, and literally ran down the mountain on another trail.
Not bad for a 70 and 68 year old couple!
Fefe was fun, encouraging and informative. We would definitely recommend a trip with him and his guides which took our friends on another hike.
