“relaxed and friendly home from home”

We stayed at Celyn Villa in both March and April this year. From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly by Paulene and Les who did everything they could to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Our bedroom was lovely with great views over the hills and estuary. The breakfasts were superb and as we stayed for almost two weeks in all they were varied and cooked to order. Paulene and Les are very involved with local activities so are a great source of information on the local area. This is a great place to stay to visit the North Wales coast, Snowdonia, Chester and Liverpool. Highly recommended.

There were four of us booked into the Celyn Villa, we were later joined by three other friends.
The bedrooms were ideal, plenty of room and wardrobe space and the beds comfortable. The toilet and washing facilities were first class; plenty of hot water available at good pressure.
The lounge, which guests were welcome to use, was tastefully furnished, and had a high resolution large screen TV.
Superb English style breakfasts were cooked to individual order and these set us up for the day. Evening meals are available if required and we took advantage of this on several occasions, just like the breakfasts these were excellent home made fresh meals with guests given a choice of menus.
Paulene and Les, mine hosts, epitomised everything one could hope for in a landlady/landlord; they assisted us in every possible way from ordering taxis, to locating train times, to finding a car hire company and advising us on local places of interest.
The Villa is set in its own spacious, impressive gardens and amidst the grandeur of the North Wales countryside.
If we return to North Wales the Villa will be our first choice.

A delightful find - comfortable Victorian home (beware the low ceilings if you are tall). We were made very welcome with tea on arrival and lots of attention. We were travelling with our 5-year old, so only had the B & B but evening meals are also available and according to the other guests are very good. We were in the family room which has "sea" views over the Dee estuary towards the Wirral. A very agreeable few days. This is one of the few places where we have stayed which has kept in touch with us since about offers and news, such as gaining an extra Welsh Tourist Board star since our stay. Carmel is on the edge of Holywell - north-east Wales has a lot to offer although the north-west is more of a tourist magnet and has more dramatic scenery. This is well-placed for lots of things though - we were there for an event in the area and having found it would like to stay again some time.
