“Quaint village”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

It is an opportunity to visit a typical Greek village and the ruins of a castle without huge crowds of tourists and retail shops. Well worth the effort.

“A Glimpse into the Lives of Past Inhabitants”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

Spread over a wide site, many rooms give an insight into early life on the island. There are facilities and you are allowed to wander freely over the extensive sight, which also gives great views over other parts of the island. Very worthwhile visit.

“Beautiful village..”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

C1 ( 2013.08.21 )
There was a second-high hill in Santorini, so we could see Santorini island broadly. Pyrgos castle was located on the top, and to go there, we went winding alley about 20 minutes. The view of top was very beautiful. Good place.

“Quaint”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

Included as part of our full day trip.
However, as part of that trip is was a very rapid up and down with little time to savour the delights of this quaint greek village.
So we made a more leisurely return visit and wandered at will.

The views from the top are impressive and there are a view small, family eat / drink places dotted around.
Near the top there was an art gallery that does a cafe style menu where we ate a delightful open greek sandwich - feta, tomatoes etc on local bread - and drink including home made leomonade.
Lovely

“A MUST SEE!”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

DO NOT visit Santorini without seeing this beautiful little town. Typically greek. Typically island like. Typically santorini. Park ur bike/quad at the roundabout and just walk up the steps. You will walk through tiny streets that take you through to churches, houses, cafes, shops..
You can not take a bad photo here no matter what! You'll even see dressed up donkeys waiting to have their photo taken with you :)
It's beautiful, romantic and free! Don't miss it!
