By far this hotel is a scam. The photos they advertise are completely fake! When we first booked our room, we sent them a request to provide us with a room with a view. The shock was as soon as we arrived, it turns out you need to climb a hill with un-even stairs! So imagine our faces when we arrived with our luggage and saw this. We managed to find someone to help us with our luggage and had to pay €15! Upon check in, we were assigned a room in the basement! (all rooms are in basment) Although all the photos on booking show that rooms are with amazing views. The room is filthy, with insects, not clean tiles, not working A/C instead a small fan, no phone in the room if you want anything you should go upstairs to ask for anything, tv is hideous. It’s as if we are living in the 60s. We stayed the first night. The next day when we woke up for breakfast, the insects are still all over the place. We decided to decrease our stay in Santorini and asked the management to refund us. But they completely refused! I am sure they requested a non refundable booking, because they are incompetent and a complete scam. Attached are all the photos supporting my complain. I don’t advice anyone to book this hotel.

We were so glad we stayed in at the Zannos Melathron in Pyrgos rather than in a hotel in the more crowded and touristy Oia or Fira. Our room in the hotel was more than big enough for the three of us, and a separate room for our teenager meant that we could rise early and not wake her.

Christos did his best to be helpful, and Maria kept our room beautifully tidy and left us bountiful supplies of toiletries and linens. Breakfast was wonderful, both because of the food and the view; and the young men serving it were gracious and attentive.

The only thing wanting during our stay was stronger Wi-Fi. We found that the signal was really weak in our room and that we had to sit in certain spots to be able to check email.

Last, a word on getting around the island from Pyrgos: We did not want to drive and found that for going anywhere but the airport, ΚΤΕΛ buses worked really well.

We would be happy to stay at the Zannos Melathron again, and we hope we’ll be able to return soon!

Chris and his team were so helpful to us. We felt home throughout our stay. The service was very professional and the quality of breakfast was well too. Recommending the place to anyone who likes to have a relaxed holiday at the top of the hill. Mornings were divine.
