Description: 'Selene' restaurant was established in 1986 in Fira, Santorini by Yiorgos and Evelyn Hatziyannakis. Our aim was from the very start, to show and promote the local products along with the local cuisine hoping that this will enable us to transmit to our guests a taste of the island's culture. The success that we have had all those years not only within Greece but also worldwide, has encouraged us to continue with cooking lessons, catering for weddings and conferences and various gastronomical events. Since 2010 'Selene' restaurant has moved location from Fira to Pyrgos. Pyrgos is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved villages of Santorini built around a medieval castle located in one of the highest points of the island offering magnificent views. What is mostly important for us however is that Pyrgos village, and the restaurant's location especially, lies next to the famous vineyards and the valuable farmland of Santorini.

We had lunch in Selene's Coffee House in Pyrgos and what a wonderful experience it was.
Lovely linen tablecloth and napkins, very nice housewine and beautifully presented and tasting food which is mainly all locally grown. Add to this a friendly waiter with a good sense of humour as well as spoken English and other languages and a good time was had by all.
Pyrgos is well worth a look around and so lunch at this establishment is called for afterwards.

We went for dinner on our last night of holidays which happened to also be our first wedding anniversary. The setting is just lovely and the vie amazing. We booked a table at 7:45 which felt the right time as we could see the sun setting. The food is amazing there. After a glass of champagne, we enjoyed a delicious amuse Boucher. My husband had the squid and I had feta pastry and salad as a starter and it was both delicious. As a main we had, langoustine risotto which was also delicious and cod which was fine but nothing spectacular. As dessert we had the chocolate dessert which was so yummy. The service is very friendly and attentive and they will match the wine with your dishes. Selene was a delightful dinning experience.

We made a specific trip south from Oia to eat here and were delighted we did. We sat outside in the meze and wine part of the restaurant, and although we'd booked it wasn't particularly busy. The food was not overly fussy and it was inexpensive, whilst the service was top notch. Talking us through the menu, always available, discrete directions to the toilet-the best service we have experienced on Santorini.

We enjoyed a meal at Selene while visiting wine producers on the Island, and after a 9 day trip it stands out as one of the best restaurant experiences of the trip. The service was impeccable, and the food both delicious and beautifully presented. Selene clearly is reaching for a higher level than many dining establishments in Greece, and they are a doing an excellent job.

We arrived an hour ahead of our reservation, but they had no problem seating us right away. This was the one restaurant where we ordered outside of the greek standard simple fare. the food was excellent, and the service prompt. Definitely worth the few extra euro.
