Torre del Lago is where the locals go to party all weekend by the beach. It is a developing destination for the young, hip, fun crowd. Not luxurious, but beautiful in an authentic Italian way, and plenty of opportunities for adventure are here. Plus, you can see the snowcapped Italian Alps from the beach. Wild!
The location is the best for this entire area. It is not on the beach (none are), but it is located across the street and you can visit the coolest beaches in either direction. Plus, this is the only hotel that is easy walking distance from the rave/all-night club "Bella" that goes from midnight until sunrise.
Highly visible signage, private free gated parking, and across the street from multiple beaches, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, even an all night rave! Yet this hotel is simple, quiet, and friendly. The rooms are NOT fancy, and the bathrooms are definitely funky but clean. You are at the beach in Italy -- deal with it and relax!
Watch out for mosquitos! It's not the hotel's fault, but this entire area (Torre del Lago) becomes filled with mosquitos starting in the afternoon and they will aggressively attack you. Do not leave your window open or your room will become nearly unbearable. My Italian buddy in the next room left his room open and he was bitten dozens of times.
