Well we said we’d return, and we have!
Stayed here previously in “2016” and had such a wonderful time, but way too short. So on our second visit we made sure it was for longer!
The owners attention to detail was very apparent and much appreciated on our first stay so you can only imagine how impressed we were to see all the additional extra touches which have been added.
The quality throughout the cottage is excellent and well worthy of it’s 5 Star Grading.
We found Pen Hendre’s Facebook Page and website with their “blog” to be extremely informative and helpful when planning our days out.
The Llyn Peninsula offers something for everyone but we thoroughly enjoyed exploring around Trefor again and the local coastal towns of Caernarfon, Pwllheli, Abersoch and the Italian style village of “Portmeirion” in Gwynedd.
We’ve left Pen Hendre feeling totally relaxed, already planning and looking forward to our next stay.
Thank you Craig, Louise and Gregor.

We've just returned from our second visit to Pen Hendre. We first visited last winter and the kids were desperate to go back, so how could we refuse! Once again we've had a wonderful experience and really made the most of our stay there. Aside from being a magical place, the cottage is stocked with everything you need for your stay. Every piece of equipment I needed for the kids was already there, which enabled us to arrive promptly on the Friday evening as we only had to pack clothes. The shop across the road is really well stocked so we didn't even need to pack food.
We highly recommend the 80min coastal walk (maps available in the hugely helpful welcome pack) as the views are stunning. We also found scavenger hunt sheets in there for the kids! We borrowed the picnic hamper, rug, buckets and spades and had a great time on the beach. Bus timetables were also located in the pack so off we went in the evening to Caernarfon to eat at the 'Black Boy Inn', a medieval pub next to the castle that serves an impressive selection of local ales and the best steak and ale pie ever! I'd highly advise booking in advance as it's very popular.
We've come home from Treffor with even more happy memories and I think we're all agreed that it's definitely one of our favourite places to be. Looking forward to visit number 3!

Pen Hendre is a fantastic place in a lovely part of the country. We had a great family holiday there this year. It's well deserving of its five star rating.

Excellent 'little' place.
Pen Hendre is much more spacious than you'd expect and has all the modern touches to make it feel like a home from home and very handy for short trips or adventures round North Wales.
Beautifully furnished with a quirky mix of modern tech and retro touches. Jason Donovan LP's (definitely Craig's)
We'd love to pop back for another stay 5*

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Pen Hendre Holiday Home which is situated in the centre quite Welsh village of Trefor. This beautiful home is suitable for all types of visitor's from solo traveler through to families with children.
The home has two large and spacious double bedrooms which are luxurious and comfortable especially the beds. Downstairs the living room has lots of space and is modern and stylishly fitted through out with lots of nice touches provided such as drawers with board games and an LP player with some retro albums.
The kitchen was spacious and very well equipped including the hi-tech kettle and toaster, which ensured that our different breakfast and coffee needs were met.

As you would expect the whole property was spotlessly clean and tidy throughout and it was the little attentions to detail that made us smile - for example, the reading nook on the first floor with books and fuzzball set; the USB chargers in every room and hand drawn maps for local walks around the village.

We really enjoyed our time in the house and around the village and used it as our base for exploring the beautiful Welsh countryside and towns. We recommend the walk down to the local beautiful beach. For the short, relaxed time we were there, we concluded each day with a pleasant glass of wine on the secluded pretty patio complete with lights and heater.

We didn't want to leave Pen Hendre and we are sure that neither will you! We had a wonderful break in a beautiful house and equally beautiful part of Wales and are already planning our next trip to Pen Hendre

This cottage has the wow factor, situated in the mining village of Trefor and 10 mins walk to the beach. It is the perfect base to explore the stunning Llynn peninsular. The owners have exquisite taste in interior design, with particular attention to detail, creating a lovely ambiance to spend a relaxing holiday. We highly recommend a stay at Pen Hendre and look forward to our next visit.

I'm lounging on the sofa at Pen Hendre writing this review before our stay ends because I want to say how much we have loved our stay here. This accommodation is absolutely fab so I won't cover all the usual - take it all as 5 star. I'll cover what makes it special. Pen Hendre has been renovated, decorated and furnished with love, care, enthusiasm, generosity and a great sense of fun. The owners really want you to have a great stay in a way that goes beyond simply making money - it's done with love & we've felt the pleasure they must have had in assembling it all & trying to walk in the shoes of people who come here for a holiday. Children would love it & the village is just as it comes - friendly, untouristy, Welsh speaking. Whoever you are out there guys - hope you prosper and your imaginative enterprise reaps the rewards you deserve. Oh by the way, coastal path's quite good too!
