This hotel was really lovely, all the staff, food and the comfort of the bedroom of this hotel was excellent. The weather was very cold and a lot of snow around, but to come back to a lovely log fire in the lounge was wonderful, Will be going back.

Room Tip: Its about half an hour by car from the Elan Valley & Powis Castle, both marvellous are worth a visit

We had a fantastic stay at the Maesmawr. We were staying for a few nights for a wedding nearby and booked the three night - two dinner package which was great value. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had three children under four and six adults in our group. The children ate dinner every night in the lounge and the staff even washed up their bibs and the kids' cutlery. The staff were very flexible, and let us move our dinner time depending on what time the kids went to sleep. The dinners and breakfasts were delicious. The refurbished rooms are gorgeous, and the older rooms are absolutely fine too. We would definitely come back.

First impression was great as the gentleman who welcomed us could not have been more helpful. The coach house suite was beautiful and the main building was very warm and welcoming. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The attention to detail in the dining room was excellent and the idea of having two menus was great because if you didn't want to have an a la carte meal you could still eat in. The hotel was everything we hoped it would be and is still being improved so we are looking forward to visiting again.

3 star rating, which is true of some of the rooms not yet had a refurb but other rooms are lovely. Coach house executive suite is beautiful although a little cold at this time of year! Staff go out of their way to be helpful & remember you if stayed before (which we have and will again). We were lucky to have snow this weekend which added to the beauty of the house and grounds. If you want that 'special' place for just the 2 of you I would recommend it every time!

Room Tip: Ask for refurbished rooms Coach house rooms quieter

The service is amazing everyone so helpful , the place by itself is unique and very beautiful and I also enjoyed a lot the food although the beacon was not the best!! The only situation that will make me say my stay there was not perfect is because in room 16 where I stayed the is only one plug connection which is not enough while being away and the fact that I had no signal or internet conection in the room. Appart from that the place is charming with interesting ghost stories and great athmosphere. Thank you to all the team
