The Black Horse has extended it's Steak Night, instead of Monday and Tuesday evening it's now all day Monday to Thursday and til 6pm on Friday,
Two soups and two steaks for £20, always two choices for soup, we had chicken and vegetable, very tasty, rump steak was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth, other options include Tuna, Chicken, Sirloin, Camembert and the recently added Burger,
Restaurant was pretty busy for a Tuesday evening, always good to see but we never felt rushed, and although tempted by the Apple Crumble we couldn't manage a pud,
Having The Black Horse on almost the door step has it's advantages, but is almost too convenient at times, yet to be disappointed by this place,
Great pint of Guinness too!

We've been here a few times this year and must say that on every occasion the whole experience has been superb.

The atmosphere is spot on and the staff have exactly the right balance between being on hand but letting you enjoy the night.

Nothing is a bother whether its a awkward food request or a cheeky enquiry for the recipe.

Lastly the food. Simply superb.

We get to visit the Black Horse on an all too infrequent basis when we visit our native NE England. The cooking and menu is exceptional, the skills of the Chef evident as someone who has many years of practicing their craft in the best of establishments. The menu has influences of the Med and perhaps North Africa. Our visit on a recent Sunday was however strictly traditional Sunday roast which again was simply beautiful.Highly recommended.

We normal eat often in boldon and decided to give the black horse another go After a disopointing visit last year. This time the food was fine but not great. They have a very select menu apart from dessert board ( very good) and the atmosphere not the best but maybe that was just down to lack of people as they were more staff than customers. House white was very average for price to!! There was nothing that stood out and said great stuff cant wait to go back to me!!!!
