A good historic landscape enhanced by recent renovations and plantings. The lake route is a good walk on pleasant paths in a Capability Brown landscape. The lakeside cafe is a good stop half way round with both indoor and outdoor seating. The Italian gardens which are more formal are very interesting, with good signboards providing information regarding the gardens, their restoration and the demolished stately home. Worthwhile looking online for a voucher - ours was 2 for 1 entry.

Great place to chill out. Go at least once a month - cafes, restaurants, indoor and outdoor shops and a good garden centre and even a hotel.
If you want to pay you can walk around the gardens and lake which is really picturesque the only downside is the price for a family is expensive and then you have to pay for food etc on top of that.
Although very busy at weekends lots of space for parking.
Well worth a visit, something for everyone even the dog.

The Gardens are a wonderful place to relax and unwind, we're very proud of the hard work the Garden Team and Estates team put into maintaining the historic gardens and parkland. At this time of year, Autumn offers some beautiful scenery to be enjoyed.

First visit as not from the area but enjoyed the walk around the gardens. Some lovely scenes and well kept gardens with artwork spotted around. Lovely slow walk around the lake and enjoyed the sites. Would recommend a visit to relax and unwind.

We're really pleased you visited the Gardens at this time of year, the Autumn scenery is truly stunning. The Nature in Bronze exhibition has been very popular along with our already popular Fairy Trail! We hope you'll come back and explore more of the Gardens on your next visit to the area.

We're so pleased you've been enjoyed a whole host of attractions here at the estate. The shopping village is the perfect place to pick up some gifts in the run up to Christmas. You must return to enjoy the beautiful late Autumn scenery in the Gardens too, the trees around the Lakeside Walk look stunning!
