I stayed at the Peninsula primarily for a 5 night, 4 day watercolour painting holiday led by Guernsey resident Tony Taylor who booked everything for me. I opted to stay on for another 7 nights to further explore the island and see the battle of the flowers.
Situated NW on the island, a quiet location away from the bustle of St.Peters Port, the hotel was spotlessly clean. My room overlooking the sea, was of a generous size, well- maintained and serviced daily. The bed was comfortable and there was a separate ensuite bathroom and toilet.
The restaurant provided a comprehrensive breakfast buffet and a varied 4 course dinner menu. On Thursday and Sunday evenings there was a sumptuous seafood buffet starter. Meals were beautifully cooked and presented. The staff were attentive and efficient, courteous and hard-working. Meals can also be ordered at the bar.
Facilities include a guest laundry room with coin operated washing mashines, outdoor heated swimmimng pool, putting, table tennis, boules.
I took my own car but there is a bus stop within 2 mins walk from hotel with buses running every 15 to 20 minutes to town.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Room Tip: Even numbered rooms have sea views. group bookings work out cheaper

The staff of this large 3 star hotel in Guernsey are always welcoming, helpful, and friendly - at reception, in the bar and dining room, and the cleanliness of the large en suite bedrooms is excellent. Plenty of parking space to the rear of the hotel, a heated outdoor pool, and beach and other amenities close by. A self-service breakfast sets you up for the day whilst bar meals and evening dinners are good value and varied. The buffet dinners on Thursdays and Sundays are particularly noteworthy with some excellent sea-food on offer (£18 - summer 2011). Over the years there have been necessary improvements to bedrooms to refresh furnishings and fitments. Staff will always assist with dietary requirements or attend to any problems you encounter.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms facing away from the bay enjoy a spectacular sunset in summer.

This was the second time we have visited the Peninsula and it was everything we were expecting. The staff, the service, the accommodation and the food were all excellent.

The hotel was good and the staff was friendly. The nearby sandy beach was a joy. The buffet breakfast was good. The one let down was dinner, as the food was bland. The soup was tastless.

I recently stayed at the Peninsula Hotel for a short leisure break with my family. The location is stunning, and the facilities at the hotel are also very good, but it is the staff who are particularly worthy of comment.

I made the booking by telephone some weeks ago, and from the very outset, Ann, the Reservations Manager, proved exceedingly helpful and obliging in resolving the preference that I had expressed for adjacent rooms to accommodate three generations of the family – a request which I know necessitated some re-scheduling and planning on Ann's part.

Furthermore, Ann's friendly and helpful approach was replicated by all of the staff who looked after us during our stay, including the reception team, the restaurant staff, the bar staff, the swimming pool / facilities staff, etc., etc.

In summary, every member of staff with whom we dealt was helpful, friendly, and exceedingly customer-service oriented – which is a testament to the individual staff members, and also to the Management Team.

Very pleasant hotel. Our third floor room with a view across the bay was spacious and comfortable and was thoroughly cleaned daily. Half board provided a buffet breakfast with a wide range of choices. The four course dinners provided three choices of starter and four choices of main course with generous helpings of separately served vegetables. The sea food buffet on Thursdays a Sundays was delicious albeit challenging on the waistline. The entire staff were wonderful with the correct balance of warmth and professionalism. No request was too much trouble for them. My wife was unfamiliar with the washing machine in the laundry....no problem, a staff member was there to help.
The hotel is situated on a bus route, buses are frequent, and fares inexpensive. It takes a day or two to familiarise yourself with the system after which you can access anywhere on the island. Great for walking.
